? ? Then everyone here who posts I.C codes is guilty of practicing law.
There was a thread just recently where a member said a dead cop had it coming for serving a legal warrant. He is still here. Why would most LEOs want to stick around where comments like that are acceptable.

*SIGH*
I don't want to say "Why can't we all just get along..." but...
I think everyone deserves a modicum of respect until they show you otherwise, not dependent on their job or position in life, but as a Human being.
Ok back to Lurking now......
It would be nice. But, being sterotyped here is just a chance for some to vent their frustrations.
If you believe in the second you have to believe in the first.
I have nothing but respect for LEO's until such time as an individual does something to take that respect away, but it would only be for the individual. As a medic, I have seen what they put up with, not only on a day by day basis, but an hour by hour basis. People call them for help but yet yell and scream and call them names when the help they give is not up to the standard they felt was due them. (mostly because their hands are tied by the law).
They are enforcers of laws, and by the very basis of that they are subject of hate and vitrol.
Everyone always talks about thanking the firefighters and soldiers for their service but no one ever talks about giving respect to the guys in blue who have to do the job that we don't want to do. Do some mess up?- Sure they do, but so do the "heroes". Does Abu Gahraib ring a bell? How about FF that get arrested for child porn or theft or DUI? We don't hold the whole of the military or the Fire dept for the actions of a few. Neither should we hold all of Law Enforcement for the actions of a few.
I hereby lay out a challenge.. The next time you see a LEO.. thank them for what they do, I am sure it will mean as much to them as it does to the FF or the Soldier/sailor/marine/airman.
[STRIKE]To Serve and Protect[/STRIKE] - No, they don't say that anymore...
Generate revenue for their locality?
I treat everyone I meet with dignity and common courtesy. Respect is earned, not given freely. I have very few individuals that I respect. As I haven't met everyone yet, that list will probably grow somewhat. There are LEO's that I respect, others I do not. There are engineers I respect, others I do not. If the actions of an individual should not reflect negatively on a group, neither should merely donning the same attire confer positive accolades either.I have nothing but respect for LEO's until such time as an individual does something to take that respect away, but it would only be for the individual.
