what i'm debating with you is, simply this - disobey house rules, no matter what they are, from pissing on the floor, to CCing, and you leave. refuse, and you'll be removed. was i unclear about my stance on that?

Yes, very unclear.. there is a difference between being asked to leave, being removed, and "watching you be arrested for criminal trespassing"..

You are giving the impression that you do not see that difference..

you have a RIGHT to carry a firearm.
you have a PRIVILEGE to be on someone elses property. they can set the rules as they see fit. i can set a rule that no one can come into my house whilst wearing pants.

either take off your pants, or dont visit. its that ****ing simple.

As an ex employee of BWW in indianapolis I can say that the store that I worked at does not have an no gun sign. However the management gets very uncomfortable when people come in OCing. We even had guns pulled by some stupid teens in the lobby. There was also a manager, a good friend of mine, fired for carrying after the store was closed. He was given verbal permission from both the GM and the regional manager but had nothing in writing. The only reason I still go in is to see my ex coworkers and friends.

Greenwood BW3 (Co Line and Emerson) has never brought up an issue with me OC'ing there. I always sit in/at the bar, and I go nearly every week. The bartenders and waiters/waitresses know me and know I carry. We've had good conversations about it, as well.

I've never been approached or talked to by their management, though. Either they haven't noticed for the past three years, or they really don't care.

I think I wrote a letter to them a couple years back, thanking them for their neutrality on the subject and not following along with other BW3's that have signs.

    Wheres the response

Just when you love a place....man now I am truely disappointed I thought that place was close to heaven

I know this is old news to many of you but BWW with such an anti gun position set me off. I sent the letter below. I already got a response and it was essentially, F$%# You.

    Dear Buffalo Wild Wings,

I am licensed in Indiana to carry a handgun. I have been in your restaurants at least weekly for over four years. My family and I go there at least once a week and for business BWW is my go to lunch location to take customers. Last night my son pointed out a sign saying "BWW Bans Guns on these premises". This policy does nothing to deter crime and it is going to drive away customers. In America I can vote with my wallet. As long as you maintain this policy I will NEVER enter your establishments again. I am also a member of Indiana Gun Owners and will be sharing your decision against the 2nd amendment with them. At last count, INGO was over 25,600 members strong in Indiana.

I would heartily recommend you rethink your corporation's position on the legal carry of firearms. In the meantime I will be doing my best to direct business away from you.

    Regards,

I make it a habit to be sure not to spend money in businesses, and with corporations that I know to be anti-2nd amendment...I do appreciate any and all posts that point these out.Someone has probably started a thread revealing many of these, however I could not find it in a quick search. Here are a few that I know of...AMC cinemas,Earthgrains Breads,Levi Strausse & Co, Sprint Corporation,Sara Lee Corporation,Time Warner, Hallmark cards,Ben and Jerry's,Argosy casinos,.

I CC when going to BWW in Terre Haute all the time and never had a problem. I never noticed any signs against carrying but maybe I was just not paying attention. I have spotted several other guys who would CC from time to time but never saw anyone OC so I don't know how they would react to that.

This seems to be a classic YMMV situation. May I recommend that everyone simply check their local BW3 and determine your course of action then. I know there are other chains that are anti-2A at the corporate level that are cool with it at the retail level.

Brothers for instance here in SB has never given me any flack.

My BW3 on Ireland Road has no sign and it's never been an issue there, either.

Oh, and BTW, like GPIA7R, I OC everywhere.

CC and dont worry about it.... my god.....

 Read the thread. This is NOT an OC/CC debate or issue. I was never approached or reprimanded. I was not ejected from a restaurant. Got it? Good. We were talking about a corporation and their stance on personal carry of firearms on their property and voting with your dollars. That's it. Stop trying to make this what it is not.

I would like to point out one other thing in this situation. Let's say I get into a self-defense shooting situation in an establishment that has a no guns sign. Do you think the opposing attorney is going to use that? Do you think it would have a great effect on the sheep that sit in juries? Of course it would. It is not a simple position without ramifications. That no gun sign could land you in prison or cost you every dollar you make for the rest of your life because a scumbag lawyer and idiots on a jury are emotionally swayed by what is totally LEGAL.

I understand your wanting to carry, but even in Alaska, gun carry in establishments serving alcohol is prohibited. And quite frankly I can see why. I have seen some of the people around with ccp and them mixing weapons and booze in a crowded place with kids is not what is a recipe for succes. Further more restraints have the right to make these decisions and they aren't trampling your 2a rights. They never said you couldn't own a gun, they just would rather not have them in their establishment. I honestly don't get why this is such a big deal. You can't carry in a post office but still frequent that establishment no?
Alaska law does not matter here in Indiana. Indiana is silent on the issue of carrying while drinking.
AGAIN, I am talking about a business making the choice to alienate LAWFULLY CARRYING, NON-ALCOHOL CONSUMING citizens. I understand it is their right. However, would you argue the same way if a business had a sign saying no black people, Jews, or the elderly? Would you argue their right to post and enforce what they want then? What is the difference to you?
No, you could not argue the same way for that. All of those examples that you posted are protected classes. Unfortunately, a law abiding, gun toting person is a regular citizen, we are not a protected class so they can say what they want when they want how they want about you and your carrying.
okay, let me put this another way. i post a sign that says no trespassing, and no firearms on my personal property. you disregard both, given due warning.

    now what?

You must ask me to leave. You call the cops, they come and tell me, "Hey, Havok doesn't want you here. You gotta go." I leave on my own free will or at that point they cite me for trespassing. You cannot have someone arrested just because you have a no trespassing sign and they disobey it. Then again, IANAL and have never been in the situation. That's just my experience from working security. They must be trespassed before they can be cited.

Still haven't heard anything on why, if BWW corporate policy is no guns, they only have signs in certain locations? And seemingly enforce in certain locations?

Maybe there have been problems in these locations? :dunno:
