Sadly, I would only need to do one pull-up to beat my lifetime tally.

I started a fitness Boot Camp through the YMCA this week. It sucks how out of shape I am. My goal is to make it through 7 weeks of classes in one piece, get in the habit of working out regularly and go from there.

    :yesway:

The easiest way to do more pull ups is to lose weight.
You can work on doing negative pullups for now if you can't do a regular one yet.
    You will get there.

I am doing pull ups with the equivalent of a 30# vest on :(

Well if you lose the 30 lbs you will be able to do wear more pull ups.Quit eating chocolate in the tub! ;)

I have to add a 26 lbs backpack to do pull ups, I do as many with the bag then when I can't do anymore I remove the back and try to do some more.
It's surprisingly way easier without the extra weight.

I'm at 26 in a row right now (without the bag).

Wow. Props to y'all for keeping this up during the cold dark winter.

I wish I could do a pull up. Maybe I can. I don't have anywhere to try it.

I'm kind of in winter hibernation mode right now. Work OT is kicking my ass & I probably won't start running until weather gets better and it stays sunny longer. It seems like I can only get away from work to exercise if I'm rehabbing an injury. They didn't hire me for my strong legs. :(

Playgrounds are a great place to pull ups, probably better in the summer though, especially in Indiana.
I guess if it was cold enough, you wouldn't have to worry about your grip giving out.... you'd be frozen to the bar! :):

Two more PR's last night (our gym is going through a testing phase) on back squat & power snatch. Normally I don't get excited about this stuff, but I'm pretty happy to be hitting increasing numbers after my scope last year.

My goal this year is to do unassisted pull-ups. I started back in July using a green band and I am now down to using a red band. One more band and I am doing them without assistance!

I can do a few without a band but most workouts have too many reps for me to be able to do them unassisted. But I will get there!

Greg that's where I am too. Tomorrow has three sets of 25 p/u :(

Yeah, for that many, even the red band may be too tough. On those workouts where I am not sure, I will grab a purple band(weakest) and string it up with the red band. If I can do them all with just the red, fine. If not I'll have the purple to help me out.

Today was heavy and hard. My hands were toast so the pull ups afterwards were limited

    5 mins deadlift 315 - I did 15
4 mins muscle ups - I did them standing on a box, fun to finally get over the bar
    3 mins deadlift 225 - did 18
    2 mins HSPU - did 6
    1 min deadlift 185 - I did 10

That looks like a good one Doc. Muscle-ups would really suck after those heavy deadlifts.

Pushups are kicking my ass today. Doing max reps each set until I hit my 1,000 for the day. One set every 20 minutes. I usually do 25 sets of 40 throughout the day.
