I'm not sure she's a child anymore. Don't know why or what happened, but now she's a problem and a danger, and I don't see there's much society can do to 'fix' her at this point. Just keep her away from the law-abiding, or indeed, the situation will eventually resolve itself (although how many more victims will she be allowed to create before that happens?).

The grandmother told WTHR that she's been in and out of the juvenile system since she was 10. Someone tell me again how well "rehabilitation" works again... Obviously this girl has mental issues, but what can be done about it? It's nearly impossible to have someone committed against their will these days, even though this girl clearly poses a danger to others, if not to herself. At what point is the evidence compelling enough to prompt a judge to take action?

The juvenile system seems more concerned with finding 'services' for the offender and family, than treating them like responsible human beings. JMO.
