To me, one of the scarier parts, is the fact that these officers KNEW he was hiding something and suspected at the time it might have been a shotgun (if you listen closely before they got out of the car) and yet STILL got out to do their job....
You may laugh, but the other day one of the towns in the area put out a call that someone had overheard kids TALKING about a gun on the playground at the middle school.....
In the new world of hyper-liability concerns, there isn't a police department on the face of the planet that would actually give anyone the go ahead to shoot. Besides, they wouldn't get a chance to use all the SWAT toys they have.
As it's been mentioned already, unless the officer is alone...
Actually, by Texas statute :
Sec. 42.01. DISORDERLY CONDUCT. (a) A person commits an offense if he intentionally or knowingly:
(1) uses abusive, indecent, profane, or vulgar language in a public place, and the language by its very utterance tends to incite an immediate breach of the peace...
I think the news outlets use the word 'robbed' interchangeably, because "Local gun store burglarized overnight..." just doesn't have that same dramatic effect.
The policy regarding gays was from a memo published by the owner/founder in January of 1991. According to the article after his death in 2012:
It seems the people spoke & he had no choice but to listen:

IMO, this would have been the smarter thing to do, instead of showing up & surprising them..
In fairness, they actually only dispatched 2, which is procedure. The other 3 showed up just because (probably bored & in the area) & weren't officially sent.. just sayin'...
There was nothing after the few minutes that are in the clip there. I listened for about 45 minutes to see. That's why that clip is relatively short. I'm assuming it was cleared over the CAD system.
That's great for you.. Knock your socks off. It's nice that you call people that do their jobs properly 'mindless automation'. Obviously you don't work in the medical field. There's a different level of importance when people deal with medical records. They tend to frown on people making up...
Unfortunately, it's not that simple.. Everything is audited, and if you DON'T ask, you will get written up for it. Medicine has changed in the 17 years I've been in it. It's all bureaucratic BS, with new government regulations saying "if you don't do this, you don't get paid".. Money has...
