? about buying a gun from a friend

Like what? Granted I haven't sold many guns, but early on when I was still figuring out what I liked I went through a few. I took cash, handed over gun, went on my way. Whatever helps you sleep at night, though.

      If you're going to Canada

They have to abide by the same rules as any other importation, even if they are personal or you are a corporation and they were used for business purposes (not for sale). If you go hunting in Africa, say, and take your rifle out of the country it has to comply with all import rules to come back...

Rob Pincus - Using a Flashlight for Self Defense

Just found this on close out at lapolicegear.com as well, if you have a rail for a weapon mounted light. I've got one one and it works well, but obviously makes it rougher to conceal. Streamlight TLR1s Weapon Light STROBE That's a really good price on it, at least compared to the last...

      i am not a sheepdog

No, he's an experienced one. Its easy to talk about what you would do if this or that, but you never really know until you see muzzle flashes. Being a "hero" can suck. Knowing your decision to act led to another human being's death, even if they had it coming and it was for a really good...

Rob Pincus - Using a Flashlight for Self Defense

My first thought when I saw the title was "big Mag-light, wield as club", but then I saw he means "with a pistol". I know its not all tacti-cool and ninja, but a really cheap and nice LED flashlight for this is sold at Batteries Plus. Its an aluminum bodied "Rayovac RoughNeck". It has an end...

Is it responsible to store in a locked console.

You aren't a thief though, and you are more logical and have better forethought than most petty criminals. If you teach private security, what you'll tell them to look for is people wandering through the parking lot, often on cell phones with their "pick up", looking in windows. Video...

Is it responsible to store in a locked console.

I wouldn't say you need one, but I would say you should have one. Just like a seat belt, if it was up to me it wouldn't be mandatory but the first time you need one you'll be damn glad you had one. I bought a Ft. Knox safe from Kiesler's when I inherited some firearms, and at the time I was...

      New Glock products

I'm just funnin' ya, but I'll carry a 1911 over anything given the choice. And Yes Sir, a quality revolver shot in single action is like rubbing silk over glass. Especially some of the old Colts....mmmmm...smooth. I still carry a .44 revolver when I do any farm work, snake shot doesn't work...

      9mm vs. 45-I need help

Have you considered carrying a smoke grenade? That ought to give you a bit more time to sort out your reloads should it become necessary. I would also recommend a "pimping" sword cane and if you can rig up a small crossbow on your forearm you should be good to go.

      Don't Shoot & Text?

My favorite was a young Yemeni who kept using his FN FAL as a chin rest, folding his hands over the barrel and then resting his head on his hands. He also ditched his boots and wore "combat flip-flops" whenever his sergeants weren't around.

Homeowner calls 911 & gets shot

Sorry. My Batman undies were in the wash. I try to wear them when I clear the yard, you know, Batman being pretty tactical and all.

      New Glock products

Glock couldn't make a revolver or 1911. Both usually come with good triggers.

      Mad at guns

Kinda. Years ago I sent my CZ40B in to Ashley's Big Dot to fit their prototype big dot sights on my gun. They kept it about a month and sent it back to me, and I got free big dots for letting them borrow the gun to test fit. I sold it not too long after that. The big dot was too big, IMO...

38 super pointed at my chest and trigger pulled.

I'd have thrown them out on their ear, physically if need be, and probably cussed them up into a little pile. A better person than me might have referred them to an NRA class or instructing range in the area. But not me, I don't have the patience or inclination to deal with city kids. We were...

      Don't Shoot & Text?

If you've ever tried to train with Arabs, that's like asking a fat kid to stop staring at the cup cakes. He might for a few seconds, but he'll drift right back. Trigger discipline and burst firing aren't their strong points.

Desert Eagles were issued to US soldiers in Iraq

I only saw Berettas and Sigs issued out. Beretta for the "regular" troops and SIGs for some of the body guards and CID type folks. Navy CIS had SIGs, too, at least in Italy.

Source for used guns around Greenwood/Indy?

Most of my buddies, and several co-workers, could be on Hoarders: Firearms Edition. A Mini 14 and a S&W model 66 are about the only things currently for sale in my circle that I'm aware of. One's been trying to get me to cough up my Springfield 1911, but that ain't gonna happen. I did poke...

Source for used guns around Greenwood/Indy?

I did get to Elmores. They were really friendly and had a big selection of new stuff, but were pretty light in the used department.
    19. R

Where you bank does make a difference.

I've had them since just after they opened up to enlisted men and they've been nothing but great with me. Sorry you had a different experience, but I think you'll find your in a small minority. Most folks who have them love them.

City of Gary to pay up to $100 to buy back weapons

I'm sure it doesn't curb gun violence, but it does deplete the funds of anti-gun organizations who foot the bill. Plus it probably does get some unsafe guns (something that might blow up in the shooter's hand) out of the attic.
