      My wife has a 642 and we both love it. It's light enough that she doesn't mind carrying it. I haven't shot +P's through it yet but the recoil isn't bad with regular loads. I may have to get one for myself.

      There are some snakes that mimic a rattler by shaking it's tail. I think the gopher snake does that.

      I haven't had any more luck finding .40 then .45. They're both hard to find and I were you I'd keep your 1911. Save up and buy a .40.

      That is the exact same gun/holster combo that I use. I have a Don Hume for my Para LTC also but 95% of the time I carry my XD40SC.

      Copying an LTCH (License to carry a hangun) redux

      I took mine to a locally owned print/packing shop and ran off 4 copies and laminated the original. I also scanned it and have it on a memory stick. I didn't reduce the size and the color matches so I'm good to go.

      I mailed my application on Feb. 19, the ISP recieved it Feb. 21, and I just got it back today on April 15th. I think that was pretty quick. Now my wife and I both have our Lifetime License. Now I need a job so I can buy more guns.

      Couple big Smiths 500 & 44

      Those are sweet. One of these day's I'm going to get a 500. I shot my Ruger Redhawk .44 for the first time last week and the recoil wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I'm already wanting to upsize.

      They will get a little faded but I've heard that Armor-All will help. I keep mine in the garage and other than the scrapes and scratches it looks like brand new (It's about 10 years old). Put a tarp over it to keep the sun off and you'd be fine.

      I'd go with a Ruger 10/22 also. There's lots of accesories out there so you can upgrade it however you want. I've had mine since 1985 and it's still one of my favorite rifles.

      I went through the same thing last year. I ended up trading my PT140 for an XD40SC. I really liked my Taurus but I love my XD. I hated to trade in the Taurus but I didn't need two .40 sub-compacts. My XD is my daily CCW and it has eaten everything I've fed it without fail.
