Took a little run down by the lake on the motorcycle. Must be a lot of folks on four day weekends. A lot of bank fishermen were out. I didn't see any rods bending or fish. :xmad:

It was in the fifties and pretty chilly under the cloud cover.

my truck is still in the shop being repaired after getting rear ended last week... :(

but the good news is I'm supposed to get it back Monday, in time to take the oldest out fishing Thurs-Sunday next weekend while he's home on leave before headin to the sandbox.

I really wanted to be on the water this weekend.

We went trout fishing today (in Branson on vacation)..it wasn't as hard as it might have been. The trout were following us from the bank and we could've probably just netted them...but we had fun and I have 10# of Rainbow Trout on ice

Since I can't use my boat, think I'm gonna take the boy down to some places I grew up and fished with my grandpa. Just gonna be too nice not to be out :)

I hate living in the city.. I grew up 200ft from Laughery creek, and that is some awesome fishing. All I get round here is retention ponds, that is, if the frikin illegals havent eaten them all, trying to save as much money as possible, to take back to Mexico.

I got out today twice. First go around, missed a big bass. Had him hooked up, but he ran straight at me, and I couldn't strip the line quick enough and he got off. Second time, caught 12+ bluegill, all on a dry fly. Saw a few bass jump, but it's still a bit early for them, I think. It was nice to get out and enjoy the weather.

Smell that? That's a skunk! For the entire weekend! Nothing Friday, Saturday or today. Thought for sure I would land some trout out of Minne but it didn't happen. Seen some others catch them but it wasn't my day. Fished it for 6 hours and nothing.

Well, as saying goes, a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work!

Even with the wind blowing and trying to control cast it was still better than work. I was going to shave until I realized how wind burnt I am. Not giving my coworkers the opportunity to call me "two tone" again. Beard is gonna stay for at least another week...maybe longer. My forehead however is pasty white.

Will be hitting Bass Lake over in Greene-Sullivan's Dugger unit on Thursday while Shane is home on leave. Looking forward to some quiet time alone with him before he heads to the sandbox.
