Moving back to this thread for Convention goings-on.... We wanted it to be full of fun and drama, and we're going to get it.

About 70 members of Texas delegation have signed on effort to force vote over convention rules. Sessions says he'll do what he can to force a rules vote, as well.

Trump camp claims they were "taken by surprise", and are currently discussing it. Threats to replace anti-Trump delegates with ones that will follow the rules are also being made.

Jake Tapper reports delegates are "very close" to forcing a roll call vote.

Strange, I thought the people of the United States already voted for their R candidate.

Looks like the sore losers are still whining. :crying:

Maybe they should wait until November and vote for Hillary then.

Again. I am with them in spirit and principle.

But, at some point, is this really helping? Or is the point to emotionally punctuate the collapse and division of the larger Republican party?

Frankly, would be more interesting if they voted their conscience when the vote actually happened to see how the convention leaders would respond.

At the risk of echoing Bobby Knight, at some point you have to relax and get it over with. (And yes, I feel icky even saying that.)

The vote would have failed. But the handling of this has been a sham.

No reason to not allow the roll call vote. They followed the rules to demand a vote. System rigged, etc.

Edit: Colorado and Iowa delegates have left the floor.

Chair just abandoned the stage, not allowing for the vote to happen.

    Awful optics, GOP.

This is what happens when one faction nominates a candidate no other factions want.

I saw some Donkey ass pundit mother****er on TV talking about the glorious end of the GOP, so now they can have things the way THEY want.

Things usually go smoother with the Trolls removed.

It's unbelievable how these individuals would wish to go against the wishes of the American people... Then again this is nothing new to them, they helped pass obamacare.

Well, will of the process. Trump won 44% of the GOP primary vote.

    Wait. Whut?

How did these delegates help pass Obamacare? These are party insiders, generally, that would've fought against it tooth and nail.

And, again, "the American people" didn't vote for Trump. Registered Republicans (mostly) did. The latter is a subset of the former.

If this Soviet RNC horse**** were organized for any other candidate, it would be cited as Exhibit A of how corrupt the establishment is

You can tell these speeches were written early... Gov Fallin talking about "secretive, democrat convention processes" after they steamrolled a rollcall vote... embarrassing.

if the Trump foes are as defeated as they claim, why not have the delegate vote to show how unified the party is behind Trump?

This isn't new. Remember what they did to the Ron Paul delegates years ago?
