Good. Because "go along to get along" sure as hell wasn't doing anything for us.

The lion does not concern himself with the opinion of the sheep.

Those chickens will come home to roost, in the next 20-25 years. It's the last hurrah of a dying perspective. Those who believe that they have been victimized by that perspective, will unspring a backlash, that will drive the nation hopelessly left.

I'm betting you didn't see Trump becoming President back in 2016. Don't pretend that you have any clue about 25 years into the future.

Seems like with every republican president we see many articles bemoaning the fact we're less popular around the world. Maybe that tells us something. Obama was so popular, he had a Noble prize awarded to him before he even moved in (if I recall the timing correctly)...and that didn't make us worldly popular.

I can add. And I can extrapolate from past trends that have steadily moved leftward. That's all I need. "Conservative" perspectives have steadily moved left, and "Liberal" perspectives have moved further left. Trumpy isn't even a real conservative.

Yes, we are trending leftward all the time. I agree.

Obama was hugely popular. Whether that popularity was justified, I will not address.

He was but the USA was not....It was kind of weird.....Teddy Roosevelt addressed this one time, I am paraphrasing but it went something like this...

"America will never be loved by the world...Respected? Sure...Feared??? Probably......They don't like us because we have too much audacity...And the old world can't stand that in an individual, never mind an entire country..."

Your enemies love your weak leaders. As a Tennessee Vols fan I loved Mike Dubose when he was at Alabama and Ron Zook when he was at Florida.

Iran, Syria and North Korea loved Obama. Palestine too. Obama was a friend to a lot of dictators. Castro...

That "huge popularity" is one on the reasons we can happily have President Trump.
