I finally figured out why I like the wheels so much. Those are the same as the ones I have on my '88 chevy truck.

Found out that Hurst still makes a white 3 speed shifter ball. I had to buy one. Have always wanted a white ball, black just blends in too much. I hope it is highly polished so it has that worn feeling the original one has.

When most street muscle had 3 peddles Hurst and Mr.Gasket came along with the "T" handle.
They really allowed a wienie arm to row the lever. I loved them.
You had to make sure you stayed square up on the lever going for 3rd or the "T" would come loose and you would have your face in the dash board and wrist twisted painfully.
After a few of those I went back to a ball.

So my next upgrades, I'm looking at a different steering wheel and some bucket seats. I love the bench, but man it sucks if you spend any kind of major seat time in one...

I have parts in my cart that will be ordered in the A.M. for the Impala.
Drop in aluminum dual 1" core radiator.
Dual electric fans and sensor kit.
I have the plugs/wires/new cap (HEI) and a hotter coil.
Stripped the carb and cleaned all the crap out of it. It is a 600 CFM Edelbrock.

I too tried the T-handle. It was all the rage back in our days. Ended up with a white ball. Liked the feel and function much better.

If any of you ever had the opportunity to own one of the vaunted Hurst "Super" shifters (they were the real deal) the "T" handle worked on them.
They mounted higher on the side of the box and had a really short throw. The ones I owned helped me destroy more than a few M-22 Muncies and 1 Borg super T-10

I don't know why he did it but my dad put one of those on my grandpa's Wheel Horse. Pretty sure it was a joke but dad sometimes did things like that to make a statement, like taping a quarter to a ratchet before throwing it in a field.
