THIS is why we are past the point of no return. Obama, Romney, Paul, Johnson, no one can change the direction we are on. If Romney lost running as a center right moderate, how in the world could someone like a Paul OR Johnson even have a remote chance.....:n00b: think about it.

    It's been grand.....:patriot:

I think a lot of people are missing the point. Obama got 10 million fewer votes than in 2008. Romney got 2 million fewer than McCain.

If we are beyond the point of no return and everyone wants freebies, why didn't Obama's votes increase? Hell, why did it bleed more votes than [STRIKE]Bob Dole[/STRIKE] Romney?

Voter participation dropped. This election was for the Republican party to lose. And lose they did.

Voter's can still be reached. They weren't interested enough to show up to the ballots. Maybe if the republican party would stop doubling down on fiscal moderates and offer freedom (their original platform when the party was created) things would go differently... :dunno:

It was apparently clear last night the majority of Americans don't want freedom, they prefer a nanny state to care for them.

The quote of the night from Bill.

Well, it changed my mind and I have seen the error of hard work.......
I don't need to pay for a cell phone anymore for starters.

    I'ma gonna get me obamaphone!

It really cannot even be "blamed" on Bush, certainly not President Obama.

"SafeLink is run by a subsidiary of América Móvil, the world’s fourth largest wireless company in terms of subscribers, but it is not paid for directly by the company. Nor is it paid for with "tax payer money," as the e-mail claims. Rather, it is funded through the Universal Service Fund, which is administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company, an independent, not-for-profit corporation set up by the Federal Communications Commission. The USF is sustained by contributions from telecommunications companies such as "long distance companies, local telephone companies, wireless telephone companies, paging companies, and payphone providers."

But I can see that it's more fun to blame Obama.

And so it begins, the march towards European Socialism and all its govt over-regulation and sky high taxes. It seems that people had been given a choice, and choose they did. Most apparently crave the cradle to grave model that Europe is entangled in. I thought it could not have been a more stark choice. America has spoken, at least the majority has decided from where we go from here. Debt, lowered standard of living, loss of freedom, gun control, and unfettered spending and taxation are what awaits us! God help us all.:(

    :just a smidge different:

Hardly. Two different groups speculating that violence is just around the corner. Their reasons are different but their reasoning is the same: something I don't like just happened so we are headed for ruin. No deeper analysis, no facts, just trading on fear.

There was a riots thread in 2008, just like this year. There will be a riots thread in 2016.

Stop your fact checking. How can we be expected to dish out rhetoric when we have to use facts?

Hopefully, those who are willing to see we are part of a changing county will come to realize our healing will not be found in the Republican Party. A new direction is needed. A direction that will allow people to be who they are without totally conforming to some invisible image of what it is to be an American. It's clear the Republican Party will not be inclusive and the Democrats are too divisive. So, what other options do we have? How about the Libertarian Party?

I have argued against the Libertarians in this election because I thought that they would take away votes from Romney and let Obama win. Unfortunately people are even more stupid and self-interested than even I thought. Voting for Johnson didn't matter in the long run. The Republicans blew it by having a another moderate politician run against Obama. Granted, Romney might have been slightly to the right of McCain and carried himself in a more presidential manner, but the Republican Party has no backbone and is continuing to play it safe with these people. So maybe the Libertarian Party might be the way to go. I'm still skeptical as to whether the Libertarians could pull off a win in the future but I'm fed up with spineless R party. I'm listening Libertarians and now I'm leaning your way. Unless the Republican Party can quickly become truly conservative and get a true conservative on the ticket I will be voting Libertarian next time...If there is a next time that is.

Youtube Ron Paul and go nuts.... he has been predicting this downward spiral for the last 20 years. By a LONG SHOT... he is the most Conservative politician on the planet.

Yeah but December 21st. 2012 is only a few weeks away and we all know what that means so why bother?

I’ve been thinking about this whole end-of-the-world thing. This all based on the fact that the Mayan calendar ends, right? That makes NO sense. Every year I buy a calendar that ends, that doesn’t mean the world will end. It just means I need to get another 12 months of kittens. Relax people.

Sustained by VOLUNTARY contributions? Or by way of taxes and fees via the FCC and other state entities on all those customer bills in those industries and companies?
