I'm not so sure any alien race would be all that different than us. I know we watch Star Trek or Star Wars and like to believe as we progress as a race, we'll become some sort of secular, kumbiya, benevolent, peace loving sort like they have or maybe another advanced race, to become advanced, figured out how to do it first. I tend the think the galaxy will be more or less like us. Maybe, more likely like the Klngons, The Empire, or the [STRIKE]Borg[/STRIKE] feminists.

Very true. I think faith in "something" is important. I had a gentleman give me a religious pamphlet yesterday, and I thanked him read it. He was bein genuinely kind and as a human I recognized that. I also won't throw it away. Why? Because I do believe there is something out there and I don't want to be the shcmuck that pisses it off :):
my faith has been tried by personal experiences, anger, and despair. But I'll never be closed minded. Never say never unless you know for sure, and as long as you have faith in something I think it allows you to be positive in any situation. Eventually. It's up and down for me.

What if he'd have been a Muslim gentleman? Same respect for his views on religion?

Wish I had that realistic a toy when I was a kid, we had to pretend our telescopes were rocket launchers and our hockey sticks were sniper rifles...

    Me too -
But actually, that pix is at a youth camp for little jihadists. They're not pretending, they're training.

Not sure how much practical training you can give a 7 year old with a plastic rpg but I do get your point. Going to be very difficult to unbrainwash kids like that. What'd we do for kids who were in Hitler's youth after WWII? Other than make one of them pontiff...boom, Catholic burn.

I don't care what the Japanese do in Japan. As I said, just not a culture that we should seek to emulate.

Not only do they not let let them dirty mooslims in, they hardly let ANYBODY in. And the few that they do, do not enjoy the same rights as the "pure" Japanese. Even Japanese citizens who do not "look" Japanese are treated as second class citizens.

They can carry on their xenophobic, racist policies until their extinction for all I care.:dunno:

And how did we think of/treat the first nations? And how did the Brits think of/treat the wogs. We've already adopted similar attitudes long ago.
