Then you are more out of touch with reality than I thought.

Is there any area of your life where you don't separate things into one column or the other?

    Nope - not anymore.

You see Sollitaire, in [STRIKE]BirdsAway's[/STRIKE] the majority's mind you are the enemy and as the enemy you cannot possibly have anything in common with [STRIKE]him[/STRIKE] them or have any valid opinions. In [STRIKE]his[/STRIKE] thier mind, he like cornflakes for breakfast and you like the blood of Christian children poured over the shredded Constitution.

This is where we are in American politics. People are no longer Americans, or even humans, they are either allies or enemies. One group is used for a confirmation bias and the other group is uniformly ignored and vilified.

I used to think it was only Politicians who played this game of thinking only for the immediate short term victory, but with the recent spate of puerile secession petitions and "deport the secede'ers" I've realized that it fully extends into the heart of America. Now, if we don't like something: pack up our state and leave.

I'm no liberal, far from it, but I don't have vilify my fellow Americans. Yes, their solutions are wrong, but know they want "destroy America", they honestly think what they're doing is the right thing (but they are wrong :):).

And another thing, there is no such thing as stooping the the "level of liberals". No, when you act childish and such you're "stooping to the level of morons*".

PS - Mrs. Evilwrench, I'm still waiting to hear your answer - Do you think secession is the right solution for the problem, or did you just sign the petition because it's a solution? :dunno:

    * and before you pick the low hanging fruit in my post liberals and morons are NOT THE SAME THING! I know plenty of conservation morons, and be honest, so do you.

PPS - I'm going to go read & write some post about something important: guns!

So you're well versed in liberal tactics of mocking , belittling , name calling and how the white man screwed everybody , ok got it . :yesway:

You call it cowardice to secede , what are your suggestions to fix the problems the country faces ?

1: Tyrannical , corrupt gov't that no longer cares about the constitution or American sovereignty .

2: Flood of illegal immigrants that have no vested interest in maintaining the American way of life or conforming to American culture .

Oh, look at the big, tough conservative patriot, whining about being a victim. I thought that was a liberal trick. If you are feeling belittled, Kleenex makes an app for that.

Does this nation have problems? Of course. It has had problems since it was founded, even though chicken littles on this board think that everything was a puppy dogs and flowers utopia in the late 1700s. The difference between me and you is that I am not hyperventilating about the fact that not everybody shares my worldview, and it takes more than a Presidential election for me to want to abandon my country.

If you live in the US, you can't even fathom what real tyranny or corruption is. Perhaps you need a reality check. Your drama queen hysterics are way out of proportion to the actual effect that you can have on the political system in this country. You have zero perspective, and I feel sorry for anyone who has to live with you and listen to what I am certain is an unending tirade of how we are all doomed.

Just because I don't know the answers to the problems that this country faces doesn't mean that I have to freak out if they aren't all solved overnight. I'm a realist. Illegal immigration? How about streamlining the process to become an American citizen for those who want to be citizens? Couple that with harsh penalties for business owners who use illegal immigrants, with real jail time. Finally, just admit that with a border and shoreline as big as ours, you will never completely stop illegal immigration.

Amazing that despite well reasoned conflicting arguments by learned experts in public policy, economics, sociology and international affairs, the people who REALLY know how to put this country back on track are busy posting on internet forums.

And some of you say that I'm the arrogant one. :):

Everyone, well, most everyone, understands that the secession threads are just people venting their angst. There are legitimate reasons to seek redress from a grossly over-extended and arguably oppressive government. But I really don't think anyone sincerely believes that secession is the answer. I could be wrong.
I am certain that there are many things I have in common with the average liberal. I am sure we both love our families. I am sure we both love our country. No one wants to see people want for the basic necessities of life. There is plenty of common ground. I am not a Republican. Sorry if you thought I was. I don't want to ban abortion and I don't want to ban gay marriage. I believe that pot is no worse, and probably somewhat better, than booze. It causes a lot less violence. I do care how you vote. I do respect your right to your own opinion. However wrong I think it might be. Yes, those of us who you loosely define as "conservative" are upset, disappointed, disillusioned, etc. I guess I need to check and see if the EPA has issued some restriction on that.

Yes, just like El Salvador, we have a real problem with leftist guerrillas assassinating political leaders and businessmen, blowing up public transportation and hijacking radio stations to further their socialist agenda.

Maybe you should put your energies towards something more important than clowning on an internet forum, if you care so deeply about the certain doom that we are headed for. Apparently you know how to get this country back on track. We need you. Please don't let us down.

Well then...... it's a good thing nothing in her list is going on in America........

    • Ended my mother’s small business in El Salvador.
    • Affected the budget of the university where my father worked reducing his income to a small pay check every few months.
    • Created class warfare.
    • Increased anti-American sentiment.
    • Led people to want to remove free enterprise and individual rights to create “equality.”
    • Politics made business owners move to other countries and stopped job creation where these businesses started.
    • Increased taxes on everything possible including some groceries.
    • Redistributed land and wealth in the name of social justice and income equality.
    • Persuaded some that killing business owners was okay to punish the wealthy and anyone who had more than what they had.
    • Isolated entire nations keeping them in poverty and without freedoms.
    • Changed health care systems to become socialized and promised people medical care for everyone, but instead many died while waiting for government approval to see a doctor or to have a test.
    • Caused some to be without or not enough food.
    • Took away from parents the freedom to choose how they would educate their children.
    • Took away their religious freedoms.
    • Imposed dictators indefinitely.
    • Produced the exodus of people escaping their own countries while others less fortunate remained captive.

If you folks don't want to be here, then just leave. Don't make a spectacle out of it, pack your **** and get out.

Why in Gods name would or should we? WE are the ones trying to preserve the nation as it was founded and the COTUS. I suggest the progressives and liberals that hate it and want to change it are the ones that need to get the phawk outta MY house!

Would you have signed it if Romney had been elected?
Had these petitions been popping up say a year ago, then there would be some validity to them. Since they are appearing after an election, I look at those that sign them as probably the least patriotic Americans of us all (assuming they voted). These petitions are tantamount to "I played the game and lost, now I want to leave." Rather than play again, or fight the good fight, the simply want to turn their backs on other Americans. Nice. I honestly wish the feds would allow them to leave. Americans arent (or shouldn't be) composed of a nation of whiners nor quitters.

Nope. It is a vote of "no confidence" in the administration. That's how I see it.
And thanks for you willingness to have free speech. Apparently, if we voice another opinion other than yours we are whiners. Sorry you feel that way, but please, make you opinions known. Unlike you, we won't call you names.

Funny, I was thinking that we were evolving as a society. Whites aren't the majority anymore, cultural diversity is becoming the norm with multi-race individuals being born all the time.

You guys wanting to keep thing "As they were in the glory days" are a dying breed. Societies evolve, people evolve, ranting about the glory days isn't evolving, it's a boat anchor on process.
