There are 40-50 cars stuck just on 109th and temps are going to be -15? I'd say that's serious.

People can't drive? Why is that my concern?
It has been worse, ive seen it.
People forget mother nature has the right of way.

Temperature? I've been tent camping in this.

My mother didn' have an indoor toilet or "automatic heat" until she was married.

People have been dealing with this for 1000's of years
And we have better equipment than ever.
But people are forgetting how to deal with it.

Had to go out in this for a wake. I'm glad it was only a mile from the house. It still took us 15 minutes to get there. Hobart is doing a great job on the main roads.

I'm not saying this is the worst it's ever been or that people are not stupid. That doesn't mean that I want harm to come to anyone. It's your prerogative not to care and my prerogative to care.

Just finished 4 driveways. Both of mine. My neighbor to the south, who is a night nurse at the hospital (not even sure if he is home) and my friend around the corner. He is stuck in Highland at his machine shop, his wife was out shoveling.

I say screw shoveling or snowblowing and just stay inside..... Its like peeing into the wind....
But the backsplash is nice and warm . . . until it freezes!

I care. So they can "advise". But it doesnt matter, looks like im stuck here. Cause nothing says safety with liquid steel like guys on 24 and 32 hour shifts.
But the roads cant be too bad, cause someone is bringing meals. That makes it better.
and so much for not working too hard and hurting my back.

I94 closed from state line to 421 in LaPorte county.... 65 from merillville to Lafayette

If anyone wants to check out the Cameras on I94 and I65, here is a link to the website.
The color blocks on the map indicate travel speeds.
If you roll the mouse over a "C" you see the view from that camera.
