I finally broke down and ordered a 686 last night. Squeee!
Someone's got the gun bug.

So if I want to get a full size spare tire, and keep my spare doughnut, where do I get a new rim?
I was probably going to Goodyear for a tire, do they sell rims? Do I have to go to Ford?

Usually, I just keep whatever spare they give me with the vehicle. But work is getting rid of the bus service to get me where I need to be in the mill (22 square miles). They will be giving out "drive-in" passes.
Problem is, everyone I know that has a drive in pass, tells horror stories of flat tires. So I wanted to replace my spare doughnut with a full size. But still keep the doughnut, either under the truck where it originally was, or in the garage.
There's a place on Mississippi St. south of the mall that sells used rims. It might be within a few blocks of the light at 93rd. Not sure.
As Dad said, you can get one from a junkyard if you want to match your regular wheels. OEM Wheels from a dealership will probably be expensive. So if I want to get a full size spare tire, and keep my spare doughnut, where do I get a new rim?

You will probably be best served to get a wheel from a junkyard for the pickup. All this rim/tire talk has remind me that I need to get a spare 8 lug rim for the pickup.
Just think every time you get to the gate to leave the mill, you have to open every door and cubby hole to be inspected to see that you didn't steal anything. One vendor I know didn't remember there was a pistol in his car and was caught and was escorted in handcuffs off the mill property with a life time ban on all mill property. Flat tires and a dirty vehicle are normal, just look at all the mill trucks that run around in there. Your lucky to only have four tires to check on, my dump truck has 14 tires to keep an eye on.
All this rim tire talk is making me want a new car. Not that I really want a new car, but I kinda want a new car. Considering my traction control and abs went out the day after Christmas and I have a box of suspension parts that are still sitting in the garage and not installed, I'm gonna have to do some thing sooner than later. Sigh...
