Do you have any perspective on why the founders made the requirements for president natural born citizen but the representatives and senators are just required to be citizens?

My progressive SIL said she keeps getting texts from "Nikky Haley" bugging her for support. Not that she could possibly vote for a Republican, but her opinion of Haley decreases with every text. She says blocking the number doesn't help because they text from different numbers.

From my uneducated WAG it would be because it is simply one man. What is the citizenship status of SCOTUS? I believe there is none, but they have to be selected and approved of by two branches that do have that requirement.

While I would vote for a woman for President if she had the correct policy ideas, there's always been something about Haley that I've never trusted.
Through the years, my BS meter has been mostly accurate.
