It was an easy way to try to shake the mean republican narrative for many repubs. The others were true believers.

How dumb does one have to be to be sucked into believing this crap? I believed the whole thing a hoax based on a few points and the education from farm life added to basic biology and earth sciences from a small country high school.

The freeze they predicted did not materialize and they did an immediate shift to cooling.

They cannot predict the weather tomorrow but can predict temps in twenty to a hundred years.

I looked at record highs and lows and they both had occurred widely over the hundred years they had data on.

They are guessing the temps of the past thousands of years if any number has a decimal point and likely anything more precise than a round number of ten.

Well. Why then, every time there's a tornado outbreak during tornado season, or a hurricane during hurricane season, or a forest fire during forest fire season, do you attribute those events during their respective seasons, to global warming? As if there were never hurricanes in August or September before.
