While I wish that more gun owners would take training classes or just be more involved in the safe handling aspect of firearms. I think it's a slippery slope to have requirements for firearm ownership. If it were to be implemented I could see the training classes becoming a way for the anti...
Congrats on putting in for your C&R. I just got mine a couple days ago. Check was cashed 1/27/2011. Took about a month and a half. Which is a pretty quick turnaround from what I've read.
Still looking into what my first purchase is going to be. I want to get something really nice for my first...
Tula, TulAmmo, and Wolf are all made at the same Tula Cartridge factory in Tula, Russia. The Bear and Golden Tiger ammo is made at a different factory if I remember correctly. I haven't noticed a major difference between them other than the Bear being a little cleaner.
TulAmmo is really...
I carry everyday. Granted sometimes all I am carrying is a Ruger LCP but I figure a .380 is better than nothing.
I didn't feel that way but I just feel like I have the responsibility to carry. Having a child has really brought out the protective beast in me.

I used to carry my XD 9mm. Now I carry a CZ Rami 9mm.
I have quite a few different XDs now. I have the 9mm and 40 XDM, XD 9mm and XD 45 acp SC.
The XD line is my favorite striker fired pistol. I prefer a steel frame at this point in my life but still love my XDs.

I'll leave the legalities of carry outdoors to a lawyer. There shouldn't be anything illegal about it though.
You will garner quite a bit of attention though. As long as you don't take a firearm into a place that doesn't want it you shouldn't be hassled too much.

Glad to hear that you've found your firearm. I've been following this forum since you first posted. Glad to hear you didn't have to lose any friends over it.
I would search around for a good safe to avoid this issue happening again.

I doubt we'll see any this year either. Unless Beretta is aiming this as much towards the civilian market as the military. If the msrp is below $2000 as the link said. It wouldn't be to hard to imagine getting one late next year in the $1600 range. That's not to bad for a new platform.
Still...
There is nothing wrong with the Hi Points. If you are only able to afford them they will do what's intended of them. They are surprising accurate, if you are able to control the very rough trigger. The ergo's are not the best, but it's a solid cost v performance. If you can save for a bit you...
Congrats.
The PCR is one of the few CZ's I haven't collected yet. I love the feel of a metal framed pistol. You can get some really nice grips from Hakan. I have a set on my Rami that are really nice.
The trouble with CZ's is that there are always more of them to collect.

I would probably lean towards magazines. That's because I'm working on getting magazines for my range guns. Seems like they only increase in cost. If you have magazines for everything I would lean towards a range membership for the year. If you shot at your own home some steel reactive targets...
I think they are great. I'm going to pick up a .45 tactical this fall. Firend has a 9mm and he's had zero issues with it. Great accuracy out of the box and a pretty good trigger.
I think they are similar to an USP but a better overall pistol. The price is really low for the quality also...
+1 Colonel D - The meat tendorizer is great.
I don't have any carry pistols that I really want. I wouldn't mind a Rohrbar or another pocket 9mm to replace my LCP. I just don't know if I can justify spending the money on one right now.
My main carry is a

I'm not sure what I'm getting back this year. Probably going to just sit on it for awhile though.
Out of the list of firearms you have up. I would say you should look for a prelock S&W snub. You should be able to pick one up for a reasonable price and still have enough money left over to pick...
I haven't ever offered anything for just a trade. I do understand the mentality though. If you want to avoid paying taxes or going through the paperwork. You can normally get a more even deal when you simply trade vs selling and then purchasing.
In a trade you would probably get a higher...
I fought with the same issue last year. My Glock 23 was sitting in the safe for a year without being used. While there was nothing wrong with it, I just wasn't that into it. I traded it for a Baby Desert Eagle and haven't looked back.
I was locked into the "don't sell a gun" mentality. I...
hello from ohio
Per the CC I would wait until you get to Ohio and get your permit there. You will need to go through a handgun basics course. They are offered at most of the ranges and if you check the local paper there will typically be some advertised there. There are also links to...
No Micro?!? ;)
Full size and Compact are the ones that I shoot the most often. I would lean towards the compact as it fits my hands the best. It's the size that I carry and use for my nightstand gun so I have to be proficient with it.
I do enjoy shooting the CZ75 though...
Favorite Handgun
My favorite handgun is my most recent purchase typically. ;)
The one I always go to is my S&W 327 R8. That revolver taught me what a truly great trigger felt like. I would say I've developed more skills shooting that handgun. It also started my collecting of revolvers...
.380 acp
My main carry is a compact 9mm. I prefer a full power cartridge, but a lot of folks wouldn't call a 9mm full power. I do carry a LCP as my bug. Which is the only time when I use an ankle holster.
I do pocket carry the LCP in the summer. I don't feel under gunned in the summer...
