I've spent the better part of the last year looking at web-sites to see just how much use I would get from having an 03 FFL. My main guns I plan to buy are a few Mosin Nagants, a Mauser or two, and maybe a 1903 Springfield...or two. Anyway, I filled out the forms online this morning, and printed them out and mailed em, so hopefully in a few months, I'll be getting rifles delivered to my door.:rockwoot:

I just sent mine in 11 days ago as well. Your list is pretty much the same as mine. Great minds think alike!

I am sure you will recoup your license fee in a short time with the savings.
You will also be getting dealer prices on ammo and stuff.

    I just renewed my C&R. $30 for 3 years.

I find I haven't bought many guns in the 6+ years I've had it. But I figure what I save with dealer pricing on midwayusa pays for it. Brownells does the same thing. There may be others I don't know about.

HSM used to give wholesale pricing to C&R holders, but I don't believe they do anymore. Can't answer about other ammo savings.

Congrats littletommy, you will enjoy it. And yes, the dealer price savings at many places will pay for the license. As mentioned above, Midway USA(will send you a nice dealers catalog), Numrich Gun Corp (parts), Brownells, Graf and Sons can be up to 10% on some items(and yes there are others I'm sure). You can only access pricing if you have a C&R on file at places like Century Arms which have a large inventory of C&R long guns and decent prices on Mosin and Mauser food. SOG (Southern Ohio Gun) is the same way(Though I think Century and Aim have better prices most of the time). And Aim of course is decent. What is nice is those three, they are all in Ohio so shipping cost is very reasonable. There are a number of others that are worth sending a signed COPY of your C&R too. I posted a list here while back with info and some contact names/numbers. I am sure there are many others. I sent mine to quite a few places whether I thought I would buy from them or not 'cause most will send you catalogs, flyers, eflyers, and special deals/sales on all kinds of gun/ammo porn stuff...:)

Congrats on putting in for your C&R. I just got mine a couple days ago. Check was cashed 1/27/2011. Took about a month and a half. Which is a pretty quick turnaround from what I've read.

Still looking into what my first purchase is going to be. I want to get something really nice for my first.

I've heard a lot of guys say they don't use it much, but I have a pretty specific list of guns I want, and C+R rifles are the bulk of what I take to the range, so I figure I'll get a fair amount of benefit from having it.

As far as the turnaround goes, I'm hoping it's as efficient as when I ordered my app forms (which I wound up not using). I ordered them on Wednesday, and got them in the mail on the following Saturday!
