I posted a link to this thread on the FB wall of of friend of mine who might know. Between him and his dad, they probably have a dozen high standard pistols. Never mind one of them might buy it from you.
I will let you know if he answers....
The two guns were introduced 71 years apart (1911 and 1982). So as long as they both continue to be produced, the 1911 will never have more than 71 years of history more than the Glock.
All steel .45 ACP pistols without a grip safety are bit hard to find. EAA, Sig and CZ seem to be the most likely choices if you want a new gun. You might find a S&W semi-auto on the used market or go with the suggestion to pin the grip safety on a 1911.
I am only aware of a few offerings for Glock Pistols:
Ciener: JAC Hand Gun Conversion Kits
Advantage Arms: Advantage Arms Secure Online Store: Glock Conversion Kits
Tactical Solutions: TSG-22 Conversion for Glock Pistols | Tactical Solutions ***
*** sadly, they only list this as compatible...
My friend has two SVI 2011 pistols. And both of them have a slimmer grip than his Les Baer 1911. By less than 0.1 inches, but I digress.
I will also point out that grip thickess "feel" is both a function of circumference and the side to side measurement.
I have not heard of this guy prior to this year. And that is not evidence of "not following the interwebz" considering I do information research for a living and spend more time on the web than most people.
Regardless, the two most derisive and condescending posts were within the last year...
A) his customer growth before he posted these vidoes means nothing.
B) TR's classes are relatively cheap. The two day fighting pistol class is $500. You can get more customers when you undercut somebody like Gunsite by 25-30%.
The idea that there is not stress on a 1911 MSH is simply wrong. The mainspring in a 1911 is under at least partial tension even when the gun is not cocked (that is why the mainspring cap and the retaining pin are needed). Never mind that said level of tension increases every time the action...
The guy is a grade A d-bag plain and simple. I cannot imagine why he would do this if he is trying to run a business. Pissing off potential customers is simply not good marketing. You can have an opinion and you can even be right, but being a jerk is never a good idea.
I have had two Glock...
I have a friend with one of these and I agree it is truly a fabulous piece. The very first time I shot it, I had a 1" to 1.5" 4-shot group at 7 yards (with three of the shots touching)....and then I shot a flyer. I was so pissed.....
But I loved the gun. Just awesome!! I hope you truly...
STI makes a 2011 in 10 MM. Fusion Firearms offers a few in 10 MM. CZ is offering the Dan Wesson RZ-10 pistol in 2012 (though in very limited quantities) and they have the Titan model in 10 MM. Wilson Combat offers several models in 10 MM and Nighthawk Custom offers a couple as well. Les Baer...
There is a little c-clip type ring that retains the spring on the guide rod. Yours seems to be missing. You can assemble the pistol without it, but you constantly be searching for that spring. And it may hit someone in the eye.
Here is the part you need: Recoil Spring Retainer Buck Mark...
I will also say that a Sig P239/P6/P225 would be about the same size as the P22 and has the DA/SA trigger she seems to like.
Regardless, the no-fail cure to snappy recoil is practice....though you may to take over the housework now and again to get her to shoot a larger caliber more often.
