Ummm, what? Other than what Al-Qaida is writing about--making bombs from pressure cookers and finding crowds?

The past use of this exact tactic by jihadis?

Pressure-Cooker Bomb Is Qaeda Speciality » Matzav.com - The Online Voice of Torah Jewry

Boston Marathon bombs: al-Qaeda's Inspire magazine taught pressure cooker bomb-making techniques - Telegraph

    WTH do you mean assumed???:dunno:

Yes, the very method you can look up on the internet so it was far from automatic. However, no one was taking any claim which was very un-jihadist. However, feel free to pat yourself on the back for being smarter than anyone on the scene...and from Lafayette.

If he did it for religious reasons or not, what changes between the two possibilities? On one side, if they are found to be Muslim, no one will EVER believe it wasn't for religious purposes, even if one says his girlfriend dumped him and was running in the race, so he wanted to get back at her. On the other side, if they were/are Muslims, then what? Some get to say it wasn't a non-Muslim that did it? They get to say it wasn't someone professing to be a Christian?

It gives me relief to know that it wasn't an American.

This is what I'm hoping for too.

I can't speak for everybody else, but for me, it's not so important that the evil-incarnate must be a muslim or a whatever...it's that I am sick and tired of the predictable-as-the-sun-rises, knee-jerk reaction from the MSM, that it these things "must" be a product of the only poliitically correct group left for stereotyping. It's not really productive to play the blame game. But you really can't blame people for pushing back.

Local news has reported all you have asked. Chechyn's. Refugees came here 2000-2001. Uncle interviewed. Stated that the older had talked with him about Islamist stuff. Uncle said he told him " You are in America now. All kinds of opportunity. Work, practice your religion and be successful." He also said he had no sympathy for them and called them losers. Uncle also learned of the death of the older one live in on the air. He paused and said " he deserved it". Uncle sounded like an appreciative immigrant who knows the opportunities and freedom here. He sounded numb but his logic was good

End game for the younger brother. House surrounded in Watertown.

    Now who helped them?????

Too bad they didn't listen to their Uncle. He sounds like an intelligent and right thinking American.

If they are actually running around with military grade explosives (as has been reported), then they had significant support from someone.

Agree. Has the news of the arrest of another person made it out yet?

Oh and the uncle called the older one a "prick" on the air. I think they missed it because of is accent.

Uncle also calling for the younger one to surrender

So...the uncle isn't a terrorist? How does this play into the "we're importing our enemies" and narrative that's being played in this thread?

Out of one side of the mouth the persecution complex members here say "if he'd been a white Christian THEY would have painted us all with that brush"...then procede to be THEY when its not a white Christian. Then claim its fair because THEY would have done the same thing.

Ummm, lots of people in the media, newscasters and pundits, were making all kinds of claims that this was not jihad. It was a political cover story to avoid questions regarding immigration policy (amnesty pending and the Left's chance to make the entire nation California) AND Obama's moronic claim that Al-Qaida was on the run.

One need not be from Lafayette to see Al-Qaida's fingerprints all over this. They have been attempting to inspire (get it, geez I'm clever) this type of operation for years.

Got to give the Chechans credit. They fight. Never forget reading about the 94-96 war about how Chechans were showing up in Grozny with knives and buckets of gasoline. Hard lands make hard people.

Sounds like he's been here since 2003 and alot of the media is saying they are Islamic. I also heard on Boston's scanner that the fugitive posted somewhere on the Internet that he was going to kill all of the police for killing his brother! Good luck with that!

Most people in the U.S. claim to be Christians, especially when tragedy occurs. Is it possible that most terrorists claim to be Muslim when they commit their atrocities? Evil is evil, no matter what religion, race, political doctrine, nationality, gender, culture, or even sexual preference.

These threads are interesting, because it shows just how much some people want to point fingers at "them." However, in other threads, it's "can't we get over the past... blah, blah, blah." No matter who did it, there are still people dead, injured and suffering.

I think you are missing the point. This thread was likely created because of the multitude of insinuations by the MSM, and Hollywood, that "right wing" was responsible, that the Tea Party, NRA, and skinheads were almost certainly to blame. They said, hey it is "Patriots Day", and Tax day...do the math. Now, obviously, if they will speculate for four days about that without any evidence, then don't you think they would be quick to discuss the race/religion/politics of the killer as deplorable?

When Gabriel Giffords was shot it was the Tea Party and Sara Palin's website that were immediately demonized as culprits. When the Aurora theater shootings happened, again the Tea Party link was sought. So I don't believe this thread is about pointing fingers at "them", but more about hypocrisy like this:
