There are numerous threads for discussing OC vs. CC.

    This isn't one of them.

This. While you are entitled to your opinion, we have created two seperate threads, this and another detailing where we CC so that we can share the events or (as is most-often the case) the non-events of the day while carrying in our preferred "style". There are several threads on here espousing the pros and cons of OC vs CC. If the garlic-bread in my oven wasn't about to ignite I'd track them down for you. :D

Seeing alot of one liners from IMPD31323. Some of his statements make me think he's not IMPD. But I don't want to start any arguments on the forums so I'll zip it.

I've open carried at the Greenwood Menards plenty of times and never had anyone mention anything. I guess they must be Ok with it. Either that, or my winning personality has them totally dazzled. I'm guessing they're Ok with OC.

I am surprised, at Menards, even letting you in the door, several years ago, I heard a guy, on a call-in talk radio show, tell about how he was CC'ing, in Menards, and he was escorted to the door, by Mgt., saying how their, corp., policy, was NO FIREARMS, in the store, has something changed ?????

I OC'd at the Camby Menards a couple weeks ago and had no issues either. Must depend on the location.

and to a customers house to work on their computer. No issues anywhere.

This is where I draw the line. Very rarely will I carry into a customers home, especially without permission. It's their home after all. I've gone to a customers home and they kinda freaked out when I walked in. I forgot I was carrying and I forgot to ask before walking in the door. I was allowed after explaining about having an LTCH, but after that I always remembered to ask first.

Some homes I've been to are in pretty bad neighborhoods, though, and I've just concealed and kept quiet to keep everyone happy.

It was pocket carry, only the grip was exposed , I'm not even sure they saw it. Besides I've known these folks for 5 years. I would never carry to a unknown customers house.

OC'd for the first time today.

I blew my cover after my baby spit up on my over-shirt... After rinsing the shirt off, I went about my evening chores. Half way down the driveway taking the trash out, I remembered the gun on my hip was exposed. I just said, "G-it" (or perhaps I used a letter in the alphabet before G, which would make this a non-G post).

Nobody stole my gun, and AMAZINGLY my gun didn't shoot anybody. (it was touch and go).

Another OCer attempted to sneak up on me yesterday at Joey's on Main St.

I immediately noticed him sizing me up since I was already strategically positioned with a good view of the entrance.

(Also, Rhinos are not inherently stealthy to begin with.;))

Once he realized I had the high ground, he opted not to target me but rather joined me for a lunch of club sammiches and bacon

    ...and a coney dog.

The only freak out occurred when we realized they had switched out their normal thick-cut bacon for some thin crap. :@ya:

    We were not amused. :draw:

Not as many strays pets in Crawfordsville as there once were. They've gotta stretch their supply to make it last.

Just got my LTCH yesterday and OC'ed to Autozone in Schererville. Have a buddy who works there. I walk in and he says "Why are wearing that for?". I told him I just got my LTCH, he says "No, I was talking about the Sox shirt." (I thought it was funny) Anyway, 10 minutes after I leave he calls me and says a few customers and a co-worker wanted to know if I was a cop. He just told them how I feel about my rights. The girls working there looked at me funny for a bit, but other than that, nothing.
Oh, and at the 7-11 in Griffith. Again nothing. Great first experience.

One thing I don't understand...Knowing some about the criminal culture I do not know one BG that OC with a holster...not one. They know its illegal so they don't want to draw attention. Yet store clerks stare the same as if you could just see a handgrip hanging out of your waistband (typical criminal image). I have always felt comfortable and secure around any OC'er for the simple fact I know 999/1000 times they are legal, responsible, and ready to save my life if we are caught in a bad situation side by side. (Most of the time...yet some people with an LTCH have no common sense and are really just 'borrowing' their license till they make a stupid decision and it is revoked) lol

If a bad guy comes into a store, residence, etc. to rob the place. Their gun will most likely be hidden till its time to attack, or aimed at your face as they come through the door. Not holstered in a nice piece of leather for everyone to see whats coming.

All day on mothers day at the Fort Wayne Childrens Zoo. No one said or even seemed to notice. Got home and was working around the yard and my neighbors noticed for the first time. The daughter said loudly "mom he has a gun!" Witch caused the husband to run outside and interigate me. He said he was going to call the police but I informed him I was licenced and on private propert so I would love to have a friendly conversation with the PD. He called me a few names and went inside. A few minutes later an officer showed up with lights and siriens going. Apparently the call was made about a man with a gun but no mention of the licence. The oficer was friendly and said he was just checking out the call. No problems from him at all. My wife and daughter got a good laugh out of it all.

The other day I was at a business meeting at Panera. Wearing my PF-9 inside a nice leather IWB holster. I sat by the window. Later on another guy we were meeting came in and immediately made a crack along the lines of "Hey it's (my name) the gunsligner!" I chuckled and nothing more was said about it as we continued our meeting. The other guy there was clueless. Later I checked, and realized the grip was OCing to the world outside the window.
