I wanted to open carry today, but I was at an IDPA match and they make you wear a concealment garment.

Serious question. If it's a shooting match, why would you have to conceal? And what kind of "garment" do you have to wear? Or is this all just a joke and I'm getting laughed at?

It would have been funnier if your name was Janie.

I decided to do an open carry attending to the Organizing for America rally at a local hotel. They were NOT pleased. (organizing for america is a local lib movement where a bunch of people who know nothing about nothing get together and talk about how obama is the messiah. Don't ask how I found out about said meeting.)

Your leg isn't being pulled. It's part of IDPA rules to shoot from concealment.

First day of OCing for me. Went to West Lafayette Menards and Walmart. About 1 hour of OCing (baby steps) haha. Felt great, comfortable, and no one seemed to notice. Don't know if I'm going to make a habit out of it yet since the wife had problems with me "showing off" my gun. But it was nice since the weather was hot and the shorts fit tighter than my jeans.
I am surprised, at Menards, even letting you in the door, several years ago, I heard a guy, on a call-in talk radio show, tell about how he was CC'ing, in Menards, and he was escorted to the door, by Mgt., saying how their, corp., policy, was NO FIREARMS, in the store, has something changed ?????

carried in Janesville kicked out of menards - Wisconsin - Stories From The States - OpenCarry.org - Discussion Forum

    Wisconsin Carry, Inc. - Chairman

I just got off the phone with Bill Worley, the assistant store manager at Menards in Janesville.

The staff at the Janesville store was unaware Open-Carry was legal in Wisconsin.

Menards DOES NOT have a policy against open-carry by law-abiding citizens so long a they are not behaving otherwise inappropriately and abiding within the law.

Mr. Worley advised me that kawisixer01 was doing nothing wrong and behaving completely appropriately.

The store management called Janesville police and Janesville police verified for the store management that Open-carry is LEGAL.

Mr. Worley advised me that we are welcome to carry in their store in the future (of course respecting all laws and behaving appropriately)

Menards is a Wisconsin based corporation and I'm happy to say that we are welcome to continue to patronize their store. Kawisixer, you are welcome to open-carry when you shop at Menards in Janesville in the future.

    Carry On

Still seems like a better idea to me to just carry concealed and have nobody know i have a gun until its use is justified. Just my 2 cents.
