Yesterday: Fifth-Third Bank, BW3, Liquor Store

I got in line at the liquor store, another guy got in line to the register on my right. He pointed his thumb over, "Whatcha got there?"

"Colt 1911" I responded. "Oh, nice. I've got an M&P Shield."

We finished our purchases and that was that.

Well, that was that UNTIL the child that was behind me (who shouldn't even BE in a liquor store!) grabbed my gun, fired off three rounds, and held the place up for all the tiny slim jims they had.

I've been wanting to OC at BW3, but I'm unsure on their reaction.

I've mentioned quite often that the one at Co Line and Emerson is neutral. I've been OC there for years, nearly every week. They've never cared. Had a good talk w/ the current mgr about it, as well.

The one on 31, I'm not as sure about. Never went there.

    OH MY GOD.

The most positive and adorable experience I've ever had.

Went to Meijer and Chik-Fil-A. CFA was freaking packed.... tons of kids and parents. Kids had on elementary school shirts, maybe a soccer team or something, I don't know.

I got in line, and a little girl came up to me and asked "Are you on duty?"

She couldn't be any older than 10, if that. She was VERY well-spoken and polite.

    "Nope!"
"Oh, what do you work in?"
    "Computers."
"So that's just for your safety, then"
    "Yep, personal protection."
"Sorry, I just asked if you were a cop because of that (she points at my 1911 again)."

I chuckled, and she started talking to me about the Newtown shooting and various other gun-related things... said something like "Well I see why you have that, with all that's going on in this world!"

    My. God.

    So. Adorable.

No parents ran over to scoop her up, no people shrieked that she was speaking to a man with a gun. It was perfect.

Just think, if she was 5 years younger, she would have disarmed you!

That's a great story. I hope this becomes the rule rather than the exception.

Is there any place that you would CC over OC? (assuming that it's legal to carry there)

I'd say probably anywhere that I NEEDED to go, but they had a sign on the door. Since signs don't mean anything in IN, I'd go ahead and CC.

I OC to every bank I go to. I think I CC'd last time I went to the DMV... OC'd there once before, but only using the self-checkout thing near the door.

CC'd to a place that I worked a couple years ago, because I had to go there after hours.

    CC'd to victory field

    CC'd to Banker's Life Fieldhouse

CC'd to a couple of interviews last year.

    Just things like that.

I OCed in the Kroger where the criminal took a hostage and took a face shot for his troubles. Funny how nobody there says a word about me carrying a gun.....
