I don't care for the East Side at all but have never been anywhere where I've felt unsafe. I've found that the good out number the bad everywhere.
Both my parents are retired teachers from urban schools and early on, I learned through them that scary areas aren't trouble when you keep your head. Sure bad things happen. They happen everywhere but some areas seem to have it happen more often. When I used to deliver beer and it took me to some very "interesting" places and I stand tall behind my statement that I've never felt overly unsafe anywhere. There are worse places than Indy. We are fortunate to have as good of a city as we do. Could be better. Could be far worse.
