Sherman north of 10th to just north of 38th st. Mainly 25th to 38th and many blocks both ways.

Michigan st from the tracks west of King to around the string town area. North as far as you are brave enough to go.

38th street from Michigan rd. past post and blocks deep both ways.

38th and Laff. rd is a joke compared to 38th & Shadeland up past 42nd and over to post rd.

30th st. from the river east to the children's museum.

42nd and Colledge after 10:00 PM

I could go on but hey.

Here on the west side, that would cover Brownsburg, Avon and Danville. IT'S A HOTBED OF CRIME, I TELL YOU! :):

Likewise here in Hamilton county, that covers Geist, Fishers, Noblesville, Carmel, Westfield and Zionsville.

I drive the width of Hamilton county to and from work every day, my poor car has been shot up more times than I care to admit.

There's indicators I look for when I determine if I'm in a bad area.
    Crazy colored run down houses.
    Trash all over yards
People walking around everywhere or just hanging out next to the road.
Chicken and BBQ joints every block
Beauty salons and barber shops every block
Buildings with weird symbols on them and dudes in bow ties soliciting money in the roadways.
Abandoned buildings and run down buildings
    Just to name afew.

Some of you guys should loosen your panties.

There are also some really decent areas in this city.
Problems we have around here are the Local zombies rolling out of the Apt. that are 50% HUD.

I have graduated from tighty whitey's to boxers thank you very much

i work in security, and the east side is where alot of the trouble is for my company, and like everyone else said, 38th seems to be the aorta of the ghetto

A buddy of mine was a scout for a certain nfl team. He picked up a past #1 draft pick at the airport. This guys first request was to see MLK avenue. My buddy said sure but why? This guy said "because every cities ghetto is on mlk ave." When they got there he said "aw sh*t, this aint no real ghetto."
That's because our MLK is too commercialized. Gotta get into the residential areas to get ghetto.

Say zip code 46201. 16th and Sherman. I may or may not have some stories to share involving personal experience with crime in that area.

Well, the housing prices in some of the neighborhoods qualify as highway robbery, that's for sure. ;)

Some of you guys should loosen your panties.

After walking through not-so-safe neighborhoods in foreign countries, after midnight, walking around in Harvey, Ill. wasn't all that bad. Can't imagine too many areas in Indy that would be all that scary.

Throw in a few liquor stores and those are the neighborhoods I'd feel more comfortable being in.

My old neighborhood, Fountain Square, is all hipsterfied.

It used to be gritty and a little tough. Not anymore.

That and Irvington were the "cool" places for all the young liberals to buy their first home. Do their part for "revitalization." The new Broad Ripple.

Has anyone rolled up New Jersey from 16th st. north. That used to be wicked ugly place after dark. Now it is revitalized with mom's walking the kids and the dog.

    -42nd&Post for sure.
-the "neighborhood" from Illinois St. to White River, 16th St. up to 30th/38th made the #20 iirc. Not a desirable area, trust me.
-Georgetown Rd to High School Rd. 30th/34th to 38th St. is getting spirited.

hrmmm...it'll keep getting worse unless Juvenile actually starts punishing the problems.

This, for some reason I hate this area. I think the apartments are part of it, but not sure why this are stick in my head. Hell, I am all over Indy week long and this is my most dreaded area to work.
