We had to do Customs inspections, hated that crap, what a waste of my time. We did catch people trying to smuggle stuff back all the time. Our biggest catch was a fuselage of a blackhawk in a Conex which was jam packed full of all sorts of full auto AKs, dragonovs, PKMs, a couple sterlings and tons of pistols. I grabbed their 1SGT, told them to get it cleaned out because I was sure I was seeing things. Came back to it 30 minutes later and it was clean.

This one was union and the gun had all the correct arsenal markings in the wood and the metal. So it was issued. But I do remember hearing that an ancestor who was a confederate officer might have used a personal pistol and that is in the hands of famil in Virginia. I don't know much about it.
thats ****ing insane. My one uncle has opened up to me some about nam. ****ed up! Other uncle almost had his leg blown off. An alcoholic and will not talk about it. Don't blame him.

If I didn't know how in depth the inspections were I would have tried it myself.

I never got down with catching people up. They did their tour same as I. Besides, you know just as well as I that it would have all rolled down hill onto some lackie who didn't do a thing.
That's just insane. I can't friggin believe it.
