I measured the rod ends and was sorely disappointed. Pressed the pistons off and went to the machine shop where I used to build the Hot Rod Harley engines.
    Resized the big ends.
Back to my shop. Pressed the pins back in and have 4 in the holes. 4 to go.

I showed the young man I am building this for and all he could say was.....that looks awfully dirty........Oil dip nozzle....that is oil.........:faint:

I bet these new fangled piston engines are a bit more complicated than the steam engines you worked on as a youngster.

I dug out the original carpet yesterday, scrubbed and washed it and stuck it back in the car for the first time in 4 years. Much better. Also reconnected the Astro Ventilation and through a genuine bought in Mexico Mexican blanket on the seat bottom to cover the rips.

Anyone get anything accomplished on their projects lately? I'm mostly just waiting for the season to get a little closer. Haven't done anything with the Mustang lately, mostly just been working

I have made good progress on the Olds engine. I find that with the roller rockers we are using I will need longer pushrods. Now I need to find my push rod length tool.

Block is good! Magnafluxed and pressure tested good. Said .030 will clean up the bore. Now to get all my deburring done, chase all the threads and figure out how to build it. Then back to get the machining done...

When I tell people we de-bur/chase every threaded hole/wire wheel every bolt they get this add slightly cross eyed deer in the head lights look.
If you want the right torque the threads have to be clean. And lubed.

Positive on the block. This is the 400 yes...??

I will have the engine for the 64 done in short order. It is the frame/body work that will take me a year.

I have the heads prepped and on the 350 Olds...(.030 over so a 355 actually) but the ARP bolts I got from Jegs are 1/2" and not the 7/16" I need......:(

Just get a couple cases of beer and a few cases of your favorite rustoleum or krylon and we can git it done in a couple hours. Lol

The 1st Hugger orange paint job on my 69 Camaro was done just like this.
    In the driveway.
If you looked close you could see the sanding marks.
Hey, it was a drag car and we were in a crunch.
