How does the conver lock up switch work?

You move the lever thingy up or down depending on what you want it to do.

Geez. I thought your were smarter than that.

We have push buttons on the dash of the '67 and '83 trucks to lock into overdrive. Push in and it is locked in...push again and it is unlocked. :):

We are apparently too darn fancy for toggle switches.

I do not remember a switch in either of the cars we ran the Hot-Rodded 700's in. I do know when you put the brakes on the converter would unlock. We eliminated the ECU completely. MSD with 6AL and a Holley. No computer.

I am putting my 400 build on hold. My goals have changed this year and that 350 is just gonna have to hold out awhile longer. I will at least get the block checked out. If it does check out ok, plans right now would be: .060 over, forged Scat stock stroke crank, solid roller cam, Edlebrock aluminum heads and intake, MSD ingnition, Calico coated bearings, will be exploring the idea of fuel injection, pistons and rods are unknown at this point. Will be balanced and blueprinted like usual.

I found a set of Icon pistons the are forged and will net me 11.3 CR with the heads I have. That is a bit salty but 5 gallons of cam-2 per tank will settle that down.

Life doesn't begin until 6k. :rockwoot:

Then out come the scoop shovels and oil dry. :):

The came is an upgraded version of the L-79 factory piece and is a Hyd. unit. I have ran these in several cars with good results. We dyno ran the 355 I put in the suns 85 Monti S/S that was not really built to kill more to stun. I expected 350 ponys. Break in and then 1st run netted 380. We put a set of heads on it with 64 cc chambers and 2.02 intakes and more carb. On cam 2 it made north of 410 HP.
Look up the "Junk yard jewel" in the Hot Rod mag archives.

When I do get around to building this Pontiac, it will not be like the average Pontiac. It should live to 7k and still be making power at that point. Far cry from the standard drop off at 5500 or so... That is one of the reasons we have decided against a stroker, I like to spin them up. Technology has come so far.

I did get to watch the season finale of Street Outlaws. Looks like Big Chief is dropping the Crowmod for the street scene. Going back to a steel car. This should be interesting.
