Watching a bit of Ken Block this morning. I've seen this several times. Still enjoy it. He has GYMKHANA 9 out but I think this is still the best one.

Forgot to post this yesterday. My cousin drew this up Friday night. We are convinced it needs to be built. Pretty damn badass, not many people use these Chevys for builders.

Yeah. Hardly ever see them around here. Just not popular compared to the tri-5's.

Most were fed to the crusher when scrap was high. I knew of maybe 5 restorable ones in a yard west side of indy. Lots of steel in one.

The 55, 56 and 57 are referred to as the tri-5's. I have even heard the fords called the same for those years.

This just popped up on my feed.... I don't know him, but I've seen his truck everywhere... Scoop I was told, he worked for one of the bigger shops in town, they let him go because they found someone better. His parents then financed his new shop.... Gotta give the kid credit. I really should get to know him before I judge.

I know! I've fallen in love with it. As I do with every car that comes in..... This guy will be getting my name and number when he leaves with it and a note that says if you ever want to sell it..... His grandfather drove it off the lot new and he's got no one to leave it to..

Got the old turd all cleaned up and ready to start bringing the paint back. What I thought was a dark gray, is actually brown.





Should come back pretty well.

This is the engine news I got from my mechanic today

The news was bad enough, but the fact that my brother-in-law told me he just freshened the motor with new rod bearing, main bearings and new rings makes my blood boil.

Now I'm trying to decide if I want to build the 300 hp 350 I have sitting in my garage or buy a GM performance crate motor.

Oh man. That sucks. Can't build one for the price you can buy a brand new GM with a warranty. My uncles 66 Impala has a ZZ383 in it. Nice freakin engine.

Hell I think the 290 HP 350 is right around $2000. Do some mild upgrades to it and you'll have a solid piece for about the price of machining to have one built.

That does suck. Crtae motors are hard to beat unless you have dang near all the parts to build one.

I would start with kicking him in the nads.
The 350 will have more torque down low.
It will respond to a nice cam upgrade. I have a package I put on these that generates some very drivable H.P.

The 350 also has the accessory holes in the heads.
