Talked with my "guy" again this morning, building a new 400ci poncho just isn't in the cards for me right now. We talked options, gonna refresh the 350 in the car and hopefully get a couple more seasons outta it.

I always wondered what happened when the guy running the loader at the landscape place dropped the bucket on a truck. Had a very young kid running one once; I would have been much more comfortable doing it myself!!

My second guess is a tree fall...

No air bags or ECU's with warning lights.

Put a 4 barrel/cam combo in the 350 and run the hell out of it...........

That's pretty much the plan. New gaskets, new stock cam and lifters, rings if needed, it's a 2 barrel now but I have a 4 barrel intake. Clean it up really well and run the **** outta it!

Put a cam/kit in it man......not a monster but something with some balls.

Oh yeah....get in the oil pump just for grins.
Stretch the spring or get a new one.....just do it when you do the rods and mains.

She has plenty of balls for me right now, just needs more air/fuel. Hell I was out hot rodding it this past weekend with and surprised myself, got a chirp while shifting into second! First time ever! Couldn't wipe the smile off my face the whole way home.

Oil pump, fuel pump, water pump and timing chain are new 12k miles ago, same with distributor rebuild which is still points.

What prompted this refresh was just a lack of funds. I started adding up what it would cost to build the 400 the way I want and it's close to $7k, then I have to remember that the original 3 speed trans isn't going to hold up to the kind of power and the rear end is still original and it's still a manual 4 wheel drum brake car...

Engine refresh, do the brakes after that, then look into rear end and finally a 6 speed trans before the 400 gets built.

I just priced up the "Tune Down" on the 383 stroker............ugh.

I want the C.I.'s and the stroker torque though
