I am Seriously considering going back to Cummins but is there really any difference anymore. On of my buddy's is having good luck with the new Peterbilt engine but it's only 13.0 liters ?

All of our "standard" trucks (only pull 80,000 lbs) has had the 13 liter ISX for several years. Decent power and mileage. We have more problems with the emmisions and UltraShift transmissions than anything.

I've looked at some reports for the last few years and the Detroit is the least expensive for maintenance for the first 900,000 miles.

My son works for one of the largest towing recovery salvage recycling company's in the state.
Right now he is maintaining the trucks (was the recovery driver manager but DUI) and he is deep in a lot of them.
One of the large rotator's has a camshaft issue. They have the top off the engine. Pretty interesting.

These guys build up most of their trucks from bare chassis. They buy the rotators and modify them to their needs.

I've actually worked on the racecar 2 nights in a row now!:rockwoot: That's twice as much as I've worked on it in the past 5 years, hopefully I can keep this up for awhile and actual be driving it under it's own power next spring!!!

I have let my 64 languish for a bit. Life has stepped between me and the car.

    For now.

I was looking at a much newer truck.
