Soft woods sometimes benefit from a pre-stain sealer but the results and the visible grain on hardwoods are a winner in my book too, T.I have never stained before, ever. This was my first experience and I liked it about 300x more than spray painting or painting with a brush.
The boxes are assembled. Tomorrow I will put some Tung oil on them and let them dry. Takes a few days so it won’t stink up the house.
And yes I signed them upside down.

Tonight the staining got under way. I may go over it with a light grey tomorrow night, to help lighten it up just a little bit, not sure yet.
