I'll admit to partaking in the entertainment of watching people in a hurry on a Sunday late afternoon trying to get boats on trailers. Two old neighbors and I used to take lawn chairs and a cooler of beer to the boat ramp on these occasions. Late summer when water got low and ramps greasy with algae we saw a lot of unfortunate folks get vehicles in the water.

Boats get lighter when backing down a boat ramp when they start to float and are still attached to the tow vehicle.

Apparently you’re assuming we are backing down really fast because you’re such a stud backer upper do all kind of guy, and we’ve got to get that boat and trailer stopped but we can because we’ve got the right stuff!!

I might back up slow enough so there is no momentum on the front attachment, because I’m obviously a dimwit that thinks that things get lighter weight when they are in the water. Not at all because THE BOAT COMES OFF THE TRAILER. No, not that at all.

I'm a sailboat guy, the boatyard hoists it up when it goes on land or in the water.

When putting a boat in the water off a trailer whatever the backup speed is of the tow vehicle is the boat floats off the trailer at the same speed. One keeps the winch cable or a rope attached to the boat while backing it in the water.
the boats tonnage when its being stopped while unloading it is the same.
Hang around a boat ramp a few afternoons and just watch a few folks, cars or trucks get dragged by a floating boat that just left its trailer.

She is Ellie. The wife brought her home on my birthday in 2021. She told me she got me a German Shepherd puppy. She just turned 3, her ears should stand up any day now.

I trained police dogs for about 4 years. That’s kind of the joke about the German Shepards.

I took that pic on 9-2. A day late and a dollar short of 1911 on 9-1 for ChurchMouse. I shot a 1911 from the Mouse, and the gun in the pic was BA’s second CZ done by the wizard.

Ellie went with me to accomplish this mission. She is not opposed to gun fire.
