Tell me about the Russian Winchester on the bottom - at least that's what I think it is - but it looks new? different?
The bottom gun is just an 1895 SRC that's been reblued and had the wood refinished. The Russians bought a lot of these chambered in the same ammo as the Mosins with longer stocks. Those are harder to find that a common 1895 which most likely will be chambered in 30-40 like this one. The 1895 was a favorite of TR for Africa, chambered in 405 WCF it's hits hard on both ends. In 30-40 the 1895 was also favored by Texas Rangers, and the statue of Frank Hamer has one in his hands.

Thanks! I told you I didn’t know much about these guns.

If it was good enough for Teddy!

One of my favorite lines comes from "The Naked Gun" series were Frank says "Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to stay on my toes" LOL
"Like a blind man at an ****, I was gonna have to feel things out." - LT Dreben

Nielsen is an artist in his field. His movies have the same feel for me as Peter Sellers/Inspector Jacques Clouseau did.

Most historically famous of the Winchesters I think would be the 1873, "The Gun that Won the West". Basically a steel frame version of Oliver Winchester's 1866 with the King's Improvement loading system, it served in it's three calibers, 32-20, 38-40 and 44-40 the needs of many pioneers for a long time. Winchester sold a great many of these rifles and Colt chambered a great many revolvers in the same calibers. In the 1870s you might stop off at Simmons Hardware in St. Louis if you were going out west to places like Deadwood and pick up a Colt SAA and Winchester 1873 in 44-40, the most popular seller.

I'll get a picture of some 1866/1873s up this evening. You can also find a lot of quality repros of these from Uberti.

Got my first shingles shot this morning.

I know a few people that have had shingles and I want nothing to do with that!!
Did that a few years ago. I've seen friends with and without the shot get shingles but the one with the vaccine had a few annoying small itchy spots vs a complete and total disaster for the unvaccinated.
