    So here is a question.

What do you guys think about the Canik/tri-star c-100 clone of the cz-75 compact?

I got a friend who is just out of college and working as an account manager in the south Side of Chicago and NWI and wants to get a gun for his car(Im going to have him get an IN Carry permit) and from what I see they look like good guns.

Hell Im also looking to get one to stash in my car and to carry (they are 25oz) as a upgrade from the makarov I currently use as a carry car gun. (and its half the price of a CZ P-01) Also Im interested in shooting the gun in IDPA compact carry pistol and taking my friend there too after he gets his gun and a few range sessions as a test/training etc

So anyone have any experiance with them? Do they take mec-gar CZ compact magazines? Are the guns reliable? Can you get standard CZ compact grips on them? Is the accuracy acceptable? Do they run steel case (Yeah Im cheap to afford to shoot I just buy bulk packs of wolf and Tulammo)

Perfectly serviceable gun. It will be hard to get anywhere near your money back should you decide to part with it.

    Morning folks! :coffee:

I think I'll get my father in law a gun for Christmas since I built a range at his new place. What to get...

I'm not sure how much time or effort you want to put into it, but a surplus 75, refreshed with new springs, Cerakote and nice grips would make a great first handgun. For a new shooter (or infrequent shooter), I don't know that you'd need to go full bore CGW but a nice transitional with a new finish and grips could work for you.

MAC just did a review on these. They look pretty interesting.

Looking at what I have on hand, I am even numbers with CZ's to 1911's not counting my full bore race pieces.
Kind of peaceful. No desires past what is in the safe.
Also a bit boring but I have major car projects to keep me overwhelmed right now.

I am seriously considering getting a Remington 1858 conversion in .38 Special with a 7 1/2 inch barrel. It's the same gun, different caliber obviously, that Mr. Eastwood used in Pale Rider. Since I can't buy the Cajun parts I need I guess I will just succumb to the gun lust.

This interests me as well but if I do not actually hold/shoot one I feel resistance is with in my power.

Those sound like a whole lot of fun to shoot. I love shooting black powder, but it's a slow process. A good conversion would be a hoot.

Home defense is really why I'm interested. That and maybe a truck gun if I get a folding buffer tube.

That's why I have mine. One of these eons, I'll get my paperwork back and a suppressor will make its way out of jail.
