Morning BA. That is interesting. I didn't know CZ did silver polycoat, but I guess if they can do a green gun, they can do anything else too.

I was taking a look at the MAC video on the Marine 1911 and towards the end, he points out that the difference between a true US government gun and a civilian model is that on the frame the government gun has U.S. Property stamped and the civilian model only has U.S. The guns listed as "decommissioned" have only U.S. Plus, they have a lot of quotes around certain parts of the add in odd places like when the describe it as "used" or "decommissioned". I don't know what the story is on those, but I'm thinking that they are not US issued service pistols.

I really don't know but it seems a little strange.

This patience crap had better pay off. I'm losing my mind over here.

No 1911 for me anytime soon. Ugh.....maybe I should take up crocheting or something instead....

After going through the full thread over on 1911 Addicts, it seems that these are legit. The Marines returned 1000 of the pistols to Colt due to finish failures for exchange for new ones and Colt negotiated the authorization to sell the pistols to the public to offset costs. There's no guarantee that they ever went overseas, but they do seem to be legitimate service pistols.

I'm trying, really I am. Just ask Rusty, he suffers through my rambling on a daily basis.

I do it all the time. Something comes up that I can't live without, then either I don't have the money or it just doesn't work out. It kills me, and then a couple weeks later something else always pops up. Always. My last impulse buy was just too crazy to pass up. Luckily I had the cash ready.

BA is right. Patience. I'm terrible at it, but he's right.
