For a long time, I stuck with the basic idea that my 9mms should be CZs, .40s and 10mm should be G****s and my .45s should be 1911s. Life was simple then. I now have no 10mm G****s, a 9mm 1911 and most of my .40s are now CZs. The CZ platform shines in 9mm and it really tames the .40 when the gun runs well. I think that the CZ platform is hard on .40 recoil springs or that maybe they come undersprung from the factory. But, when they are running, a good old heavy CZ in .40 is really a nice platform.

You guys all make good points that when a platform is running, regardless of caliber, it's a beautiful thing. I'll add to this that at the moment, I think my absolute favorite pistol is the new Ruger SR1911 lightweight commander... in 9mm. That thing just runs, and runs, and is very accurate. I upgraded the factory 10# recoil spring to a 14# spring (the slide felt sort of "lazy" when cycling), also swapped out the grips, and it's been a complete hoot. Definitely the best purchase I made in 2017. Even the sights were dead-on right out of the box, something I'm not used to with previous Rugers I've owned.

The 75 I had in 40 DAO was a dream to shoot, It was really nice.
I've had many CZ handguns and have only kept my 1911's. I'm gonna give the P09 a try, I really like the 21 +1 capabilities of this offering and for some reason the grey color appeals to me.

For a long time, I held off on getting a 1911 in 9mm. I finally picked one up in December and really like the combination of the 1911 ergos and weight with the 9mm feel. It's a Colt, so there are mods to be made to it, but it's been perfectly reliable for about 300 rounds now. I could see adding a 9mm compact 1911 to the family some day too. For a long time, I've liked .40 and for quite a while, if I was not carrying a 1911, there was a G23 in the holster. That one is still my go to gun when I start obsessing over guns and need a break. It's a simple tool that does not inspire any passion the way a CZ or 1911 does for me. Having a CZ in the holster is like carrying Frodo's ring. It speaks to me and tells me that I need to buy other CZs. I generally listen and do what it says.

I really like my P-09. It is a hand full of handgun.

    WHAT??? Sheesh CM.

In my own defense I got this for the spouse. I put several CZ's in her hands but she kept coming back to the 1911's. The .45 ACP was a bit much for her.
So to keep her in the game I snatched up one of AllenM's custom 1911 Fusion bob tails in 9mm for her. She does very well with it.

Okay. Just remember who started the 9 mm 1911 trend.:)
