Also the side roads were entirely drivable, around 8:30 anyway. It was odd crossing over 65 on Shelbyville. The expressway was eerily empty at a spot where I’ve never not seen traffic.

I just drove from the Indiana State fairgrounds via 38th St. to 65 N. and then Lafayette Road up to 56th St. and into Brownsburg. No problem getting around if you just keep your speed reasonable.

Took my dog to the walking trails on the way home today. She loves the snow. Pulled into the snow covered sloped gravel parking spot, and the right side dug in. My Montero great little thing on the snowy roads, but when off kilter like that, and with open diffs... I had to air down to get out... Kind felt good. Haven't actually been "offroading" since before I started building the Jeep. Had to guess at it though. No air gage in the vehicle, and of course I don't keep the deflators in it either because I never expected to need them.

    1,000 yards out
Whose woods these are I think I know.
    His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

It's coming down pretty good at my house now. Probably have a little over an inch. I could still see the grass when I got up about 3:30. It seems to be the powdery dry stuff so that's good, although there is ice underneath. Hoping the snow melt I put on the sidewalk and part of the driveway last night will help with that.
