"In response to Russian President Putin’s recognition of certain breakaway regions of Ukraine on February 21, 2022, the White House announced that it will be issuing an Executive Order (EO) targeting the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) and the Luhansk People’s Republic (LRN), each located in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine. The EO will “prohibit new investment, trade, and financing by U.S. persons to, from, or in” these areas of Ukraine. The EO will also establish new sanctions aimed at individuals and entities who seek to operate or continue operating in these areas. Additionally, the White House announced that the Administration will also be releasing separate economic measures targeting Russia itself; however, they did not provide any details as to what these measures may entail."

So the ones getting sanction are..... wait for it..... The Ukraines! LOL

The Ukraine is screwed either way. Putin is working on destabilizing the whole of Ukraine resulting in no one wanting to make any investment there right now.

The main power station of the independent Luhansk Republic - was bombed not long ago with Grad rockets of the Ukrainian army. Will this be what Russia uses as purpose for invasion of the rest of the Ukraine?

Putin's speech yesterday was right out of Hitler's playbook. Unifying the Russian People. Taking what is rightfully ours etc....
I just read an article to that effect, comparing Putin's actions in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions to those of Hitler in the Sudentenland. What's the problem? Most of the people are ethnic German Russian and want to be Nazis commies.

Hitler demanded the annexation of these territories, and it was granted at the Munich Conference, in exchange for Germany promising peace, in 1938. Before you know it, German troops are in throughout Czechoslovakia and a few months later, are doing the blitzkrieg dance across Poland.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled for Putin to say, in Russian, "Meine Geduld ist zu Ende". Also, watch out for a picture of a sap like this one:

Watch Munich - The Edge of War on Netflix. While fictional it shows how scary (and dangerous) inept politicians can be.

The only saving grace is Putin doesn't have the most powerful military in the world, unlike HItler. If he decides to test NATO'S medal, they better have the balls to stand up to him or there will be huge consequences. Putin's a bully, but he also wants to stay in power. He will push until pushing threatens his position in the country and the world stage.

Yep... it will go from sanctions to really big sanctions.

"To be clear: these measures are separate from and would be in addition to the swift and severe economic measures we have been preparing in coordination with Allies and partners should Russia further invade Ukraine."

Well the US Patriots didn't let Britain's most powerful military hold them back. And NATO is only about one step above the UN Blue Helmets, particularly once you try to manage all the egos and disparate goals of each NATO country.

While I don't disagree with anything you said, perspective does change when the wolf is at your door. My feelings have gone from "He won't do anything" to "He will test the waters elsewhere if he invades all of Ukraine unscathed." Sooooo....what do I know. lol

History repeating itself. I figured that it was a mistake not taking Berlin first in WWII. Apparently Adolf's captured play book was passed down through the years from Stalin to his successors until it reached Putin. Wonder what will happen when Putin decides to send "peacekeepers" into former East Germany?

"German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced the certification process for the Nord Stream 2 pipeline will be halted after the Kremlin ordered troops into eastern Ukraine, saying that "the situation has fundamentally changed."
That will last right to the first black out.

The west has absolutely been played on the "environment" front. The Communists and the enemies of freedom figured out after the seventies that using the environment and climate change we're excellent ways to whip certain parts of the West's population into a frenzy.

What better way to weaken and undermine your adversaries than get them to undermine their own energy Independence and security?

No one in North America or Western Europe is going to want to sit in the dark and freeze. Europe is already there, excepting maybe France. They will do whatever Vlad tells them to do because if they don't he'll turn off the gas tap.
