I've seen videos from WWII where the polish army rolled out with horses against the Nazis in tanks. They had a lot of heart for the fight!
It's still a thing in some European countries.
In France we still have a military unit, the Republican Guard, that still practices the horseback charge.

They provide military escorts for the French president or visiting heads of states.

These units are ceremonial I hope. We still give some military officers sabers. They are not used in combat. Maybe they should be.

    Well it's not the case.
NATO members can act on their own without the approval of other member states.

That's why I'm saying even if NATO doesn't act (or takes several days to agree on what to do) Poland should, and probably will act on their own.

    Time will tell.

They are not just ceremonial, they provide actual security to the president.
Their sabers are their service weapons, they were used in combat during Napoleonic wars and will kill someone quicker than using a handgun.
They still practice hitting human targets from horseback.

When the president is in his open-top car they follow with maybe 25 horses.

A potential attacker on food will be trampled down or beheaded before they can reach the car.
They can also create a box around the car to shield the president from a potential shooter in the crowd.

But yes they don't take part in combat against other military units.

No doubt, horses still have a special role in which they are highly effective!

    This is but one example.

He’ll want scapegoats, but in the end it was his call and his defeat.
Dubious China will bail him out with arms. Rather they’ll offer to mediate a peace.
    Russia's defeat?

I understand optimism is a good thing, but there's a fine line between optimism and crazy.
A lot of the reddit foreign aid fighters immediately bailed after getting a sight of the situation on the ground.

    Here's a thread detailing them.

I guess they figured out that posing with a bunch of gear for cameras and upvotes on reddit is more fun than actually making good on their word.

Yeah, but James Yeager is supposed to be on the way so there is that.
