The LAW is still around. While it is not very useful for tanks anymore. They replaced the anti tank warhead with a simple HE warhead. Its 100 times cheaper to hand out LAW rockets to blast insurgents that don't have tanks, then to waste an expensive Javelin in it's direct fire mode.

TOW is the preferred vehicle based AT missile. Though it retains a ground fire capability. In ground mode they were given to Syrian Rebels.

    The Dragon is retired.

The AT4 has been upgraded to reduce the back blast, and is still in use

I don't think the LAW was EVER good against tanks.
    But that's okay.
There are targets out there that are not tanks.

It was designed for "light tanks" in a world that really don't have light tanks.

So when one goes over the border by mistake and lands in a town, what's next?

    They will say "oops".

It only matters, when people are ready to fight.
And.. most don't seem to be.

Which oddly, seems to make it worse instead of better.
While we don't want people to want to rush off to war after every slight, we also don't want people that roll over after every provocation either. Chamberlain anyone?

Russian strike 15 miles away from the Polish border.

From what I’m seeing on Twitter that’s where Ukraine was doing intake and basic combat training of the foreign fighters

I think that you are correct, Sylvain.
The US sent over 3,000 troops to Poland.
Other NATO members also sent troops.

I believe those countries might also directly respond if they get targeted by Russian strikes while stationed on a Polish base.

If a random Polish town gets hit it's one thing, if a US soldier gets injured that will call for a difference response.

Hopefully it will be more than a "firm tweet" from Biden.

That useless c… Margaret Brennan on CBS was interviewing Jake Sullivan this morning and he dodged her inept questioning.

SULLIVAN: The president has been clear repeatedly that the United States will work with our allies to defend every inch of NATO territory, and that means every inch. And if there is a military attack on NATO territory, it would cause the invocation of Article Five, and we would bring the full force of the NATO alliance to bear in responding to it.

MARGARET BRENNAN: But that's an accidental errant shot?

SULLIVAN: Look, all I will say is that if Russia attacks, fires upon, takes a shot at NATO territory. The NATO alliance would respond to that.

This is a half measure IMO and half measures get people killed.

What are 3k troops gonna do if Russia suddenly turns and throws a large amount of troops at Poland?

unpopular opinion….. Russia is deploying Syrian and Chechen fighter to hold what they have already taken through brutal means to free up Russian forces for the next phase in this show.

It's important to remember what is being fought for.

If a missile were to miss a target and land over a border, was it by intent, and part of an invasion of a NATO country, or was it an honest screw up?

If it's an honest screw up, it seems awful silly to throw lives away to prove a point.

This is when you make clear that if Russia crosses a NATO border with military equipment, nukes will be in the air.

It's 3K extra troops, on top of Polish troops and other troops sent by other NATO members.

Biden earlier this week approved the deployment of 2,000 U.S.-based troops to Germany and Poland. He also agreed to send 1,000 U.S. soldiers currently based in Germany to Romania.

With little progress so far in talks, the Biden administration announced last week it was putting 8,500 troops on heightened alert for possible departure to Europe.

They are separate from the 2,000 troops being sent to Europe now.

You can't just compare number of troops.

On one with the US you have professional highly trained soldiers with access to high-tech weaponry and air support, on the other you have some Chechen paramilitary troops with small arms and no fuel. :dunno:

It’s already on their own tv, I don’t see how this is still a surprise. Russia is telling their citizens “ a world without Russia is not a world we will allow to exist” and urging them to buy 3 months water, food and cbrn respirators while touting that 500 nuclear missiles will launch from submarines and destroy America.

How America is still giving gender identification PowerPoints when our enemies prepare for war is beyond me.

IMO we are currently where Ukraine was 6 months ago. They had a window to prepare and train up a defense force, hand out weapons, start a foreign legion ect but they didn’t. They waited until the very last minute.
A strong president would suggest that everyone start stockpiling long term storage foods, ban agricultural exports and mandate hunters safety be given to every junior and senior in high school right now in preparation for the worst. After all hunters Ed is 90% gun safety.

Other countries are already making these preparations for ww3. Idk why we aren’t.
