More info about the NOAA: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Will Not Release Documents To Prove Global Warming | Armstrong Economics
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has been subpoenaed to turn over its documentation to prove global warming, and they are REFUSING to show the data. They are claiming confidentiality when taxpayer money is funding them. How can this be confidential?

More likely: they don't want to reveal how they have fraudulently abused the raw data.

This is the real reason. They subpoenaed not just the scientific data but also correspondence with the scientists involved in the study. The official excuses were confidentiality concerns, and the integrity of the scientific process. You know, because the scientific process depends not upon personal accountability and open inquiry, but upon anonymity and opaque secrecy.

It's an inconvenient truth that the earth hasn't warmed as their dire predictions prophesied--they had to figure out a way to help people not notice the hockey stick hasn't materialized. So basically, they want to hide how they manipulated data to make people believe that their models didn't lie after all, and to protect the people who conspired to manipulate the data.

OK, I'm just a dumb engineer, but if the overall net is growing BUT the growth is over land, shouldn't the sea level still rise at the predicted levels?
    ?

Does the new ice push the ground down into the ocean to displace the water?

Sea levels rise because the ice melts and adds to the water in the oceans. Lock up that water in polar ice, and sea levels drop (or don't rise). Doesn't matter if that ice is on land or OVER the water.

Wait...no that's not right...if the overall net is growth...and the growth is over land...shouldn't sea levels fall?!

Wait...no that's not right...if the overall net is growth...and the growth is over land...shouldn't Solyndra be as much a household name as Enron?!

Wait..... water expands as it freezes and contracts when it returns to a liquid........

I'm not sure of my point so, global contraction.
