Was consultant on Bernie's 2016 prez run.

Plot twist: the correctional facility was still being built. There were no prisoners yet. This guy was prepping for later.

We seem to get the blame anyway. When I read the story I was reminded of the line from Hunt for Red October, "This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we'll all be lucky to live through it."

Just wait until the next SCOTUS confirmation in Trump's second term. It'll make the Kavanaugh Hearings look like a church social.

I can only conclude that the story used a pre-existing mug shot of the venerable Mr. Perry-Jones? Not exactly his first brush with the law, I assume.

Although I dislike the idea of a hate crime (added consequences); if they are to exist, then political affiliation should be included. Nazi versus Jew, gay versus straight, black versus white and such - all reflect hatred. Political ideologies along with religious discussions are very often not allowed at family gatherings because of the hatred that can surface. Hate crime for all crime or no hate crime at all. Crimes against one's belief system is a crime of hate.
