About the only thing I can think of that would get a prosecutor to pause a grand jury in a high profile case would be a promise of a confession/plea. Maybe there was some sort of professional courtesy that might cause the prosecutor to delay it, but that's about it.

This would explain the local evening news report yesterday that the brothers were spotted at the grand jury location presumably to testify but they never did for some unknown reason at the time.

I think TLex might be on to something and it could possibly have been a pause connected with the phone call to maybe work out a deal.
