    We're eternal optimists. :)

Honestly, which process is that? Relaying a explanation concerning "get your hand out of my pocket," is somehow troubling? I mean I know I've hurt some feelings over time, but man oh man, some folks must really be sensitive.

You didn't offer an explanation of why that was so humorous among your peers/fraternity brothers. That's what I'm curious about.

The "get your hand out of my pocket!" has been an ongoing joke at large black social gatherings for a LONG time. Whenever someone says it, people always laugh.

I figured a lt of people hadn't heard of it, that's why I asked BF if he knew from knowledge of had to look it up. back when I was in college, watching a fraternity step show, before the show started, someone yelled it out in the auditorium, and the crowd erupted in laughter.

So the assassination of Malcom X was a source of humor? Guess I'm not tracking.

Absolutely. With only a few notable exceptions, tragedies, that aren't contemporary to the people finding humor in the joke, seem to normally be fair game. I'm confident you know this.

I remember Kennedy's assassination. I don't recall anyone joking about it. At least not among anyone I know. Don't remember any Lincoln assassination jokes either. So tell us some good MLK assassination jokes Kut. Let us in on the gag.

^^^ This is the conversation to which I was referring. (bolded)^^^ You never addressed the question.

Well, we've digressed and I'm very willing to admit that the reference was a joke. I suppose that this is relevant because, as a joke, it should not be taken seriously or accorded any meaning of any anything.

...so we're saying that joking about the assassination of the President is no big deal?

If so, was it no big deal, say, between 10 and 2 years ago?

    Asking for a friend.

    Care to answer mine?

Since I never called for ANYONE to be hurt, killed or die, and never condoned anyone who did, I don't get where you get that.

I agreed with Rush Limbaugh when he said "I hope he (Obama) Fails" in reference to his socialist, anti-American agenda.

I opposed his agenda, but I never wished him or his ill.

Maybe you're reading a little more into it than I said. I was just expanding on the consistency of both ways of looking at it, and how it's a two-edged sword. I never accused anyone in particular of anything. I wasn't talking about what Rush said. I wasn't talking about anything that anyone said on INGO. I didn't think I had to qualify that.

Obama had an anti-American agenda? What's the litmus test for determining what an anti-American agenda is?

To the people who didn't think America didn't need to be fundamentally changed, I'd say they might rightly think that Obama was being a bit anti-American in his attempts to change it.

I don't understand why that's funny. Like I've said, I like dark humor, but dang, that's cold.
