There are times to be confrontational. I'm sure you'll find a number of people on this forum that can vouch that I'm quite capable of it.
I don't want to have the moderators involved here. I can only imagine what their thoughts are on this.
I have quite a few friends who I know would like to be involved but don't have LTCH or a gun for that matter. So what I've been telling them is come anyway - Carry a sign, take pictures, Film it for the interwebs. ect.
Also any thoughts about alerting Media outlets prior to the event? The worst outcome of this (SHTF aside) would be for the march to go off without a hitch but nobody ever knowing we were there.
|||Oh and don't forget Facebook group @ Indianapolis Open Carry March - Stand up for your Rights! | Facebook|||
It is NOT illegal for citizens to open carry a long gun in public without a LTCH!
And Rep's for the "alerting the media" suggestion. That is a MUST!
You are correct but Savage has said a few times he wants everyone there to have a LTCH (if they are carrying) This is to ensure everyone is legal to carry any gun (no felonies) for this first attempt at this.
Caesar's wife must avoid even the appearance of impropriety.
Extra careful. Belt and suspenders. Not one, not two, but three life jackets worn one on top of the other. All done to make sure the first event goes off without a hitch and without anything turning around to bite us.
Also, if I missed your commitment to come and your name isn't listed in the OP, let me know so I can update it. Remember though, names listed are those who are truly committed to this. Not the maybes. If you're a maybe I can make a seperate list I guess.
I hope I haven't overstepped any bounds, but I've sent emails to the National, Fort Wayne, and Michiana chapter contact points for Pink Pistols suggesting they join us in this, with a link to this thread for discussion.
I plan to extend the invitation to others as well.
I am still waiting to hear from Fenway on whether or not we should/could wear INGO gear at this march. If he says no, INGO has no place at the march. Just know this is not an INGO event. Not unless he wants it to be one. I would gladly have INGO sponsor us, but it's not my call. I'm sure if we do this right, then the next time around we just might get that blessing. For now though, I'd be content with this just being a grassroots flash rally with no sponsors. Concerned citizens.
I think as a good measure of site preservation all INGO attire should be refrained from being worn in my opinion.
The reason behind this thinking is if anything is twisted or misconstrued by the media, or (God help us all) if a actual incident would take place and law enforcement has to be called in. Then the good name of INGO could be dragged through the mud by accident.
The vision of a INGO item worn by many attending could lite us up on the radar in way we don't want attention, being looked at, and protrayed by the media as a gathering place for nut jobs, wackos, or worse case a breeding ground for home grown domestic terrorist. All that is needed is a slight slip and we all know how things can be wrote wrong or edited to say, or make something look 180 degrees from the truth.
Granted this is a WORST CASE SCENARIO that should be thought of.
I always expect the best things that can happen, but in the back of my mind I think about the worst also.
I agree with you.
I also agree with The Meach about making this a single issue event BUT i do think we should have an undertown of being patriotic. Maybe have someone at the front carry an American Flag. Maybe one at the front and back. I also think we should dress in red, white, and blue. What do you guys think?
And as far as involving various Gun rights organizations
I know dburkhead is already contacting the pink pistols
does anyone know how or have the contacts to involve the Liberty Belles, Jews for the preservation of firearm ownership, Students for Concealed Carry on Camus,The Second Amendment Foundation, The Gun Owners Action League, Gun Owners of America, Or the NRA?
