Seconded. That will teach you to leave the house without your jackboots. :p

My theory is that, similar to the concept that "any plane that carries the president is considered 'Air Force One'", any footwear he chooses to don may be considered "jackboots" should any jackbootery be required. Mandals are clearly exempt.

I have been in training for the last couple weeks down in southern Indiana. Today for lunch I went with two other guys who are in my class and we went to a Bob Evans. Once we had ordered I got up to head to the restroom and some random guy got up as I walked past him and stopped me in the hallway by the restrooms and said "are you ok to carry that?". My sweatshirt had ridden up and exposed my M&P which I carry IWB in a hybrid style holster. I gave the guy a look like he had three heads and said in my most sarcastic voice "excuse me?" He said "it's not every day you see a guy just walking around with a gun and I want to make sure you are alright to do that". I said "I assure you I am OK but I don't see how it is any of your business in the first place". He said that he wanted to make sure that I wasn't doing anything illegal and that I was OK. I said "I think we're done here" and went on ahead into the restroom and then back to my table. He went back to his table and never said another word to me but did point in my direction while he was talking with the waitress. When the waitress came to bring us our bill I asked her if the "concerned citizen" had any concerns I should be aware of and she said "he probably does but I sure don't". I left her more than 20%.

I guess now you know how OCers feel when they get hassled by The Man.

Don't you know that if you really want to create a scene you have to sling your AR across your back at a restaurant.

    Amateur.

It amazes me that folks that are offended/frightened at the sight of murderous instruments of death and destruction will walk right up and confront you.

I agree with the comments about people either wondering if it's "all right" or, when they make the comment that they are worried/scared.
Why would you approach in those situations.

Another I love is, "I hope that's not loaded".
Why would I carry a gun with no bullets?

And when answering, I also try to look confused. Like, why do they have a problem. Put it in their court.

I almost never OC, but I got of my car at a gas station and didn't feel like putting my jacket on just to cover up. Some guy in a van takes it upon himself to flag me over and explain to me that I should be careful or I would get arrested for having a gun. Thank goodness he showed up to let me know, could have gone quite badly for me.

I understand you were irritated with being questioned, though I think it might have been a good idea to educate the man on our legal right to carry a firearm. Many people ignorant of the law. If we don't take the time to educate them when questioned who will?
