LOL, I even contacted a lawyer and a police officer to be sure that I am correct.

    Thats how I roll.:D

I talked to few prosecutors and judges about IDing oneself, they all say the same thing, don't have to unless your violated an infraction or broken a law.

He can ask all he wants but you dont have to give it to him.

I keep asking for a link of the IC, its not there because it doesnt exist.

If its not in the IC then it doesnt apply to Indiana residents.

Been a long time since I've made use of any of this, but I think Terry upheld that officers can ask for ID.

    (A) name, address, and date of birth; or
    (B) driver's license, if in the person's possession; and
    (3) allow the person to execute a notice to appear.

    IC 34-28-5-3.5

No. They aren't all bad. Only the ones who would harrass law abiding citizens. Sadly, they've proven they are out there, and their fellow officers haven't been willing to bring them to heel.

I do agree some of them aren't as educated on some laws that they should know. However, they are also following orders to some degree.

I'm not disagreeing that the ones who harass you do not know the law, but I wouldn't call them corrupt. They just need you to nicely explain it to them so they learn something in a positive way and don't stop the next guy they see carrying.

So as long as there is no infraction or violation, those codes are useless.

Seeing someone carry a long arm is not a crime and there is no good faith to believe that someone that is has committed a crime.

Huh. I had no idea Joe hated cops so much. Gosh. Lets not turn this into a Anti-Police rally.

I have really never met a policeman I DIDNT like, after getting to know him.

Most of them are pretty stand up guys really.

Joe is a vocal guy. I'm positive he doesn't hate cops. He does tend to get fired up about the bad apples though ;)

There are a few police officers that I've known for years that are complete asses, but most I know or have known are great guys doing a difficult job

My assumption is based that until proven otherwise, someone openly carrying a gun is a threat. Walk into a Village Pantry with a shotgun and tell me if the guy behind the counter looks happy to see you.

Is this really that hard to understand?

I walk into the BP every morning with my HK visible on my side. It scares the manager so much he counts the cash for the ATM machine in front of me. Jokes about how his day has been, he carries the cash through the store and puts it in the ATM.. A gun does not make a threat. A threat is taking said gun out of holster and demanding all of your money or your wife to lay down so she can be raped... etc etc.

    Joe doesn't hate cops.

As a former cop, he hates corrupt cops with a burning passion.

Get your facts straight for a change.
